Head who played well on offense except for a really boneheaded turnover on a fast break, also played lousy defense, and rafer was just classic rafer but also decided to play a bit of VSPAN and his 5 turnover's were all just really bad passes. T-mac shot terribly and looks a bit sloppy on his passing and D, Yao was just having fits by prezbylla, but there were some ridiculous calls against him. In fact the refereeing was awful. The team was shooting like 40% and had 20 to's, and scola looked atrocious for a while but recovered in the end to be a hero. Brooks played ok but those to's were a sore spot as was his shooting tonight (atrocious), and battier - what can you say, doesn't score much, hits a few big 3's, misses a bunch of other ones, but puts a clamp on Roy.

How did we win this game by 10 pts??????

Landry was the hero tonight. He kept us in and shifted the momentum - a real gem. Forget big baby. We won this game because everyone played hard and incredible Defense (except head) and a massive advantage in rebounding.

So credit Yao-Battier-Landry-Scola on this one. They shut down the paint and Roy.

Gutsy win. But I think Utah will be tougher, and Golden State has our number. We need one of 2 of those games.

I don't know about this one.
Did you see the Sonics game? TMac still can dominate. I don't think its his injury that has made him do anything. I think TMac played an excellent game tonight within the flow of the offence. We didn't need him to totally take over - but he still can do it when we need it - as he showed v Seattle.

I was just assuming he reads Clutchfans forums because we made a thread on Friday night viewing party being at "lucky's". So i assumed he got his info from the board although i may be wrong.

Yeah for free NBA League Pass!! Does anyone know when the promotion is over? I hope it runs through Sunday so I can catch the Jazz game.

I've been hearing all the praise for Landry on this board, but since I only get to watch the nationally televised games, I hadn't seen it for myself yet. Now I'm a believer. He did it all today. His explosion off the floor is amazing. He had good touch from the outside and from the free throw line. Grabbed tough rebounds. The only negative I saw was that the Portland bigs seemed eager to post him up, though no one did much damage against him defensively. Also, he seems a bit undersized, kind of a like Paul Millsap but with a better outside touch and more hops.

I absolutely love our rotation now. Everyone seems to know their role and does it well. And I love Adelman's flexibility with the line-up: switching starting line-ups, playing the hot combinations (even if it contains 3 rooks), making adjustments on the fly. These guys look like they're having fun and pulling for each other.

Keep up the good work, Rox!!

Rafer, Head, Bonzi, Battier, Yao

AB, TMac, Landry, Scola, Battier

Looks like two great teams to me.
2nd one better to close out games.
1st one better to wear the other team down.

Loved how TMac lead the team, lead the rooks in closing out this one.
Great blend.

What pessimism from these posters, all of the below posters, and all the other negative posters have been called out(except Tfor3 of course,....I said this would be a positive statement game, rox win)

After squeezing out that win over Seattle, the Rocks will be tired and over confident. Portland is very capable of sustaining a running game for all 48 minutes, something the Rocks can't do. Go Scola, Brooks the Blur, Carl Mr. Hops Landry, Tmac, Yes-Yao too, Shane, Bonzi, sort of rafer too and chuck...but our defense that led to fast break opportunities that ultimately were turned over instead of converted for points drove me nuts in the 3Q. But, we came out with energy and authority and had they cut down the t/os and tmac hitting the last 3..we would have beat them by 20, NOT 10 in Portland

Lets go Rockets.

I really dig Bonzi. Love how he is tough, just goes right at guys.
Gives us a toughness that keeps coming at you.

I mean some people have been digging on Hayes in this post game thread, but I also really appreciate Hayes. Another solid physical player, all heart. Can't believe people say negative stuff about these guys when they play so hard and lay it all out there each time the step on the court. Shame on some of you supposed 'clutchfans'.

it seemed like it took two people to hold SCOLA off the offensive glass,

Our defense was great in this game thats what I love to see. We should have won by more than 10 but we made so many dumb plays ourself. Now all we have to do is win the next two and we will be right there. The Jazz game is going to be a great one to watch becasue they are playing great right now too, they have won 9 out of their last 11 games just like us. I hope Tracy can have the type of game he did when we played them the first time, if he does we should win with no problem.

The intensity of defense in the 2nd half was incredible. We wouldn't win the game without it.

the rookies did a great contribution to the Rockets, even we cannot get Yao on the court, we can offer a perfect defense and sharp offense...

We are 5 games above .500 now. If we win sunday we will be 25-19. And the Jazz are not playing poorly they have won 9 out of their last 11 games.
