Are you joking? Battier is a big reason that we shut down the Blazers tonight and got back in the game.
hooked on phonics worked for me!! I came in here all ready to say.. don't say that after a good defensive game like tonight!! but I see sarcasm is alive and well!
We better trade Head,James,Snyder and Francis for a reliable backup SG..Battier is our only wingman committed on defense
wow, the defense on Roy in the second half by SHane WAS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOME... i love a shut-down defense as much as i love a huge dunk.
Fun fact: This was Battier's fourth consecutive 2-steal, 0-turnover game. Sometimes, it is the little things that matter.
I love his effort tonight, but I feel bad for him because he is slow footed to guard a 2. I hope we'll pick up a defensive wing man in the coming draft.
At this point Mike James is the only roster that needs to be traded. We are having a great team here and no further trade is necessary or helpful.
Battier is a beast. Definitely a piece for any team that wishes to contend. IMO Champ teams need: 1. PG who can control tempo and can either score when left open or penetrate and create shot (or both!) 2. SG who can penetrate and create for himself and others. 3. SF who can lock down wing players and shoot threes (bowen-esque) 4 & 5: A PF or a C who can dominate the post and rebound. The other position would then have to do the dirty work and defend/have a decent J to keep defenses honest. We have: 1. Eh... Rafer is too erratic at shooting and Brooks is too erratic at controlling the tempo. 2. SG: Mac. It would be better if he didn't have to dominate the ball to be effective but o well. 3. SF: Battier! 4. Scola? good, but needs more D. 5 YAO: dominates but needs to continue to be aggressive. We're close. probably not this year but soon
the only change that will affect anything for this squad is a removal of Rick Adleman from head coaching duties....but that looks like it won't happen anytime soon...so we'll see
Battier did very well tonight. Roy still got very good numbers, but Battier locked down when it mattered, and that's what counts.
