The majority of rebounds are actually below the rim where Chuck thrives. :) Rebounds are more about positioning, strength, lateral movement, instincts and desire instead of just vertical leaping ability. To finish and dunk in traffic in the NBA, you gotta have height and/or vertical ability to do it well and Chuck has neither. :(

i tell ya, after what we've seen from him, he should have gone in the top 20. compare him to some of the other PFS that went before him! he's having a better year in LIMITED minutes. but the way he's playing those minutes are gonna skyrocket!

in the last two games LOL...RA is trusting Landry in the crucial time...

and to be honest, he has proved himself to the coach and the fans that he deserves the trust.

clutch put-back, clutch free throw, clutch rebounds, and clutch defense,

this kid does not look like a rookie at all.

Cause by the time he's moved his right foot forward in his dunking/shooting motion, the weakside defender is already there for the block...

I think tonight is the beginning of the end for Chuck Hayes's playing time. The Rockets showed that second half that Scola and even Landry can play sufficient defense that it will allow Chuck never to have to play again unless it is for spot minutes off the bench.

It's funny how in the two games we lost recently, Landry played the least amount of min. he needs to keep the fouls down and he will be just fine.

We are getting great value from both Chuck and Landry. I think we're paying Landry around $400k. That's an absolute steal.

And Chuck is a specialist. He's right there with Battier as 1-2 best defenders on this team. His skillset is needed and you can't find a better player for less than $2 million per. Sure, his minutes may dwindle. But there will always be a spot for Chuck. He's the kind of guy that can come off the bench cold after not playing for a month, and make a positive impact on the game. Right now, Landry is not even in Chuck's league defensively. Hopefully, someday he will. Because if Landry becomes as good as Chuck defensively, then that combined with his offensive skillset will make him one of the top 5-7 power forwards in this league. I'll take both and keep them both. There'll come a day in the playoffs when we will need both, we will need chuck's defense and rebounding come playoff time, mark it down.

Landry was definitely the man tonight and what an impressive performance.
If he can get more PT and reach 20pts, 10 rbs, he would be our third scorer.

ahh how I remember when Yao was a rookie and we were all dreaming of whether or not he'd be able to reach that level or not. Here we are talking about the same scenario with Landry. Makes the heart warm :)

Yeap. We were hoping Yao will reach that level and he has now. If we got another player that reach that level and with TMac, wooo hoo ... we are going to rock!!!

Portland's big men are all soft. Chuck wasn't needed this game.

I would've been pissed if the Rockets had taken McRoberts. I wasnt too thrilled when they picked Landry, but like I said in another thread, I have to give props to whoever scouted him.

    Carl is a great surprise.
He's always so efficient and so energetic.
Now i feel somewhat regretful why Rox only offered him one-year contract at only 400 thousand dollars.
    Look at: Mike james-about 6 million a year. Kirk Synder-about 3 million a year....
Carl deserves a higher contract than them!

I agree. The secret is out about Carl Landy. This dude plays hard is a pretty solid basketball player. Everytime he gets minutes good things seem to happen. It's time to make that heavy minute thing a consistent idea.
