Read the following interviews of Yao Ming by Zheng Peng of Basketball Pioneers, where he talked about Houston Rockets performance at the midpoint of the current season.

Here is Part 1 of the interview.

    Part 2 will follow soon.

    ENJOY !!! :D

Many of us feel just like Yao does. Something just isn't working.

    Thank you for the translation.

Yao is right, the only thing to focus on is winning our games. Let everything else take care of itself.

Interesting interview but the interviewer should have asked why early in the season, Yao shots were off. I believed Yao shots were always gold in the past seasons, almost in all the games. Early this season, his misses are significant and could lead to a few wins. Luckily, recently he is getting it back again.

If I remembered correctly, there was this stretch of 7 to 10 days during the end of December when Yao Ming had to play through with 2 injured fingers on his shooting hand, as well as with influence from his bout of severe flu/diarrhea. Besides, due to Rick Adelman's deployment of him in early part of the season, he had to spend a lot more of his time at the high post, shooting far from the rim, and therefore it had adversely impacted his FG%.

But recently somehow Rick Adelman compromised, and had to deploy him now more back at his comfort zone in the low post.....and therefore he had been shooting back to his normal FG%.

The only thing to do now is just focus on winning game by game instead of making the playoffs, unlike other western playoff teams we barely have any chemistry and we definitely don't have any identity and it does not matter right now if we are better or worse with or without Tmac. If we make the playoffs thats great if we don't thats to be expected after this season. Next season we will be stronger and have great chemistry (if we don't make drastic changes to our roster)

i agree bro.. just take it one game at a time.. it's been stated before - new coach, new system, etc... it's going to take more time... making the playoffs would be icing on the cake at this point and we WILL be better next season.. not that I'm thinking that far ahead yet... :D
