I am needing some simple information about OFFICIAL transcripts from the college or university that you attended. I just need to know several things about the college/university and the transcript process. Here they are:

    1. What colleges/universities did you attend?

    2. In what ways could you go about requesting a transcript at each individual school? In person? Online? Fax? Mail? Please list all options AVAILABLE to you.

    3. Did you pay anything for the transcript or was it free?

    4. If you had to pay, how was it dealt with? Did you have to pay a fee per transcript? Was the fee built into tuition and fees? Was there a one time fee for transcripts?

    5. What was the turnaround on getting the transcript to its destination?

Thanks I am trying to see what the standard is at several other colleges and universities and any information you give me would be very beneficial. Thanks!

transcripts generally have to be ordered. I want to say that it was around $25. I initially made a mistake of picking them up in person and dropping them off at the new school. They wouldn't accept them unless they were mailed directely from U to U.

    turnaround about a week.

Is that $25 per transcript or what?

    official transcripts or unofficial?

I would go in if you can, call or via online (all were offered there)...i wouldnt trust sending a fax (who knows when they get to it, but it was an option as well). They prefered you do it online though.

both require a fee per transcript. unofficial transcripts are 1 dollar in person and 5+ over the phone/internet. Official transcripts are around 6, in person.

I think mine took around a week, maybe more, for an official transcript....you can pay more for quicker delivery.

most transcrpts fees are less than 10 dollars
    some are more expensive
an institution will accept the transcript only if it is in a sealed envelope from the institution
the institution you are planning to attend will need any and every transcript you have accumulated

University of Miami...$6 for a mailed copy or $7 to be picked up in person...per transcript...can request it online OR fax OR mail...usually sent within a week.

A friend of mine just had to transfer from Cornell and I don't think he paid for it, but I could be wrong...he did it online and it was sent within 3 days.

    1. UH, San Jac, Texas State
    2. I think I did mine over the phone for UH and in person for San Jac. Just contact the Registrar's office.
    3. There was a fee but I don't remember how much it was. I think it was relatively cheap though like less than $15. This can vary by school.
    4. I don't remember. In the case of UH, I hadn't been enrolled there for 3 years when I went to Texas State. They couldn't add it to my tuition so I must have just payed up front.
    5. Call the registrar and ask. It should take about week or less. Enough time for them to print it off and mail it.

The simple answer is to call the registrar at whatever school you want to get a transcript from and ask these questions directly. If you can find the registrar section of the school website, they may even have that info posted.

U of H, $10 or $15, can't remember exactly, just a few months ago when I applied to grad school.

Can get it in person, on the phone, or online. I went online.

Paid for the transcript by credit card. I had already graduated.

    Took less than a week.

Utah State University, University of Utah

At USU they were $4/copy, at the U of U they were $5

The turnaround is about two weeks from when I ordered them to when they arrived at the universities I applied to.

I was able to do it online for both of those schools, but I also sent transcripts from a community college that I had attended and they needed paperwork filled out and faxed rather than the online method.

Both Baylor and McLennan Community College sent official transcripts for free. I hear that most colleges charge an arm and a leg.

    1. What colleges/universities did you attend?
One semester at Tennessee Tech and the remainder of undergrad at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) - also graduate hours at University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and MBA at MTSU.

    2. In what ways could you go about requesting a transcript at each individual school? In person? Online? Fax? Mail? Please list all options AVAILABLE to you.
I can't remember what it was at Tennessee Tech but at both MTSU and UAH, you could request transcripts on-line, by mail, and in person.

    3. Did you pay anything for the transcript or was it free?
MTSU's was actually free which was amazing to me but UAH was, IIRC, 10 bucks.

    4. If you had to pay, how was it dealt with? Did you have to pay a fee per transcript? Was the fee built into tuition and fees? Was there a one time fee for transcripts?
I was able to use my visa check card and paid by phone but I'm sure you can pay with cash or check as well. Every time you request a transcript, you had to pay the fee (the $10); as far as I know, the fee was not built into tuition and fees and no such thing as a one-time fee for transcripts. Every time you requested one from UAH, you had to pay the $10.

    5. What was the turnaround on getting the transcript to its destination?
Usually a week to 10 days at both places (MTSU and UAH).

Tx Tech doesn't have a fee and you can do it in person or on-line. Heck, I'm sure you could call them as well. Pretty weird about there not being a fee though. UNC's fee was around $7 to mail out.

$6 at PSU, $0 at Duke (I think) per transcript

cash, charge or charge student account

Penn State got Ed DeChellis (basketball coach) from you guys, were you there when MTSU went to the tournament? Ed's not doing to well in the BigTen11.
