    alright, we're 24 hrs from tip-off!!

For fans of Rice Basketball, the build-up to the game is usually the most entertaining part, since prior to tip-off there's still some hope that we can pull it out (said hope is usually dashed by about the 18:30 mark of the first half :p )

On paper, this is a blowout, but I think this game is going to be surprisingly well-contested, with Rice hanging tough for about 2/3 to 3/4 of the game and eventually fading at the end.

Overall, Rice doesn't have the offense to hang with the Coogs. Heart and 3 football players can only get you so far.

    UH: 78
    Rice: 67

Oh, and it's being played at Reliant Arena, 7:00 start time. Get your tix early...it's going to be packed :D

Rice fans never travel outside their "nest". You'll see about 20 students and 15 alumni. It's pathetic over there. Houston 100 Rice 58

I know right....I know the UH neighborhood intimidates them. And I think "undesirables" have been spotted in the Reliant neighborhood as well. Maybe they should have transfered their home games to an Alums house who lives in a gated community. I am sure somebody in West U has a Full Size court with a couple bleachers.

Rice is awful, and they have no backcourt whatsoever. If Houston is better than mediocre, they can force 30 turnovers. My Cardinals went 8 minutes without scoring on Rice, and Rice only closed the gap from 53-28 to 53-37. Lamar won by 17 in what was possibly their worst offensive game of the year.

Houston can still make the tournament, but they need ~ 26 wins. Going against Memphis at 15-3 will help.

I was curious until I saw the ticket price. Eff no. Then $10 for parking. Double eff no. I'll wait until the Owls come to Hofheinz and get me my free ticket and parking

If Rice doesn't turn the ball over every other possession they might have beat us. That said, we dodge the bullet, win by 9 despite shooting 33 percent and enduring a 20 rebound game from some guy who's name sounds like a character from the 300.

Positives for the Coogs, Cousin appears to be getting his sea legs, and 17 steals is pretty impressive regardless of opposition.

    Coogs win!

    Rice played hard.

Reliant Arena is a horrible place for b-ball. It just doesn't look right.

Congrats to the Coogs, it was a hard-fought if not pretty game.

Good luck to UH against Memphis!
