Althought we have a 3 win steak, but now the team is not good as before when TMac was injured. Now we lose our system we build before. our roll players became worse. I am not blame TMac but he still not a part of new system. We thank for him today but to be honest his last two shots are not a good chance, we win because they just in. I hope it will be changed, the team needs more ball pass and more easy basket
Look at it this way. There is no way our roster could ever beat the Spurs, Suns, or Mavs in a playoff series without McGrady. So you must deal with it. This team has to get better with him or all is lost. Even if we do make the playoffs.
tmac only handled the ball a lot in the 4th. he's not being used the same way. the shot distribution b/t everyone seemed good (though alston took a TON again). scola should have done more if he had made his shots. i don't know what you're seeing. offensively, we were spectacular, even in the first half where tmac only scored 10 pts. our defense needs work though. u gotta remember, we played the knicks twice and the wolves. don't let that confuse you.
i think the biggest advantage of having t-mac is that during 4th quarter...we have a reliable super-star GUARD to handle the ball and create plays... i remember in the sixer game, we try so hard to just get Yao the ball, turning balls countless times...i thought if we had t-mac, we don't have to force-feed Yao in clutch time.
rafer is the most important part of us being a contender or just mediocre. if we plays like he did when mcgrady is out, we will be damn tough to beat. i dont mind rafer taking alot of shots as long they are good shots that are open and driving to basket (he just needs to make the damn layups and floaters like he was). sadly, rafer is probably not good enough to be that consistent....so its going to come back to us needing to upgrade our roster.
I feel the same way. but I think Ziggy made the point. I think T-mac is trying to fit in. It looks stagnant when he was holding the ball too much. Whether we want to make the team work is still up to RA. I mean he got to make the decision when and how much time T-mac is touching the ball. How the others run around T-mac? It's is up to Rick at this point.
I think the Rockets can do pretty well with just Yao and T-Mac kicking ass if all they play are the second tier NBA teams. I don't think they can beat SA in a series, Dallas in a series, Phoenix, LA, etc. If the Rockets manage to make the playoffs and they go in play some kind of crappy hybrid Adelman/JvG offense, which is basically what they're playing now, they're going to get a real quick lesson in what it takes to be a contender. This team needs five guys in double figures to be a true threat. In the three games since T-Mac came back they've hit that mark only once.
We did score 109 points tonight, so it can't all have been ugly. The reason behind our comeback was that through most of the game our guys weren't making threes, and later on they started making them. The other problem was our bad defense and their hot shooting. You can't pin any of that on McGrady alone, the poor shooting and the defense I mean. Seattle was playing zone for much of tonight so it was do or die with our open shots.
I dunno, I got a bad feeling. I'd be happier if we were talking about ugly wins against teams like Dallas or SA instead of Seattle. The Rockets have got three games coming up against Portland, Utah and GS. That should makes things a lot clearer.
The first come back game vs. Spurs. TMac play very well, not a ballhog, pass quickly, only 1 jump shot. That's very good. I miss it, hope he can play like that steakly
