just the Sonics announcers coming up with a nickname for him... they're referring to his ability to do the "dirty work" like hustle for loose balls and take charges.

how many garbage players are too many for a team? we have 2 hayes/battier... 3 if you consider rafer in the starting lineup alone.

Battier is the kind of player championship caliber teams covet and maintain...

He's a garbage man because he cleans up the mess. I don't know how you can call Hayes, Battier, and Alston garbage players when they all had clutch late-game play, regardless of their mediocre performance in the rest of the game. The Rockets play down.

Good players are hated by rivals.

Come on. when both him and Hayes sit on the bench, Rockets couldn't make any defensive stop.

but we are by no means championship caliber team with championship caliber players, therefore we cannot afford to have too many one-dimension players on offense. Either Shane or Chuck needs to be benched

    shane is a great guy...

but he is somewhat like this team...inconsistent from time to time...

i always thought Shane would be the mr.consistent on both offensive and defensive end for the rox (every great team has one or two of those mr.consistent who can give you solid production every game)..

his offense is especially inconsistent...some games he is aggressive....and good....other games he just disappears...as a starting small forward (a position that's really becoming more and more important), he gotta give more to the rox then the current production.

Shane made some key plays tonight. If you can't see that you are just blind.

Battier's a perfect role player on a contender. Too bad the Rockets are not there yet.

On paper we are 1 piece away IMO (PG), IF we had the right coach to get this personnel into tip top shape. Adelman will figure something out, just not as quickly as a more passionate, fitting, coach may have...
