I haven't seen this posted yet but I heard Rick Bucher on NBA coast to coast comment on the Rockets problems this year. He said that there were some grumblings in the Rockets locker room that players thought that T-mac is not fitting into the offense because he doesn't like to push the ball up the court. That he likes to play too slow.. Bucher also said that Les Alexander was putting pressure on Morey to cut payroll because the team ain't going anywhere this year and he doesn't want ot waste money.
bucher's credibility was tossed out of the window with all his proclamations about kobe. a lot of these guys truly don't get "inside" information. they make claims that typically go with the flow of the team. the rockets are struggling, tmac is injured, the team plays better VS BAD TEAMS and the media piles on. if we win, they will shut up. so in actuality, they just say things so they have things to say. i mean, bucher said kobe was NOT going to play for the lakers to start the season and he said he will give up his journalist title if he wasn't right. well, was he? u just have to take it with a grain of salt. when things go bad, the media piles on.
Les Alexander is a spendthrift on a scale most absurd. He deserves to lose every penny that he's lost this past year. And you don't need to have insider info to see on the court how badly T-Mac slows down the pace of the game. I don't think it's something he consciously does in opposition to our gameplan though, and over time and esp in this period of reduced minutes he'll adjust. Although in NBA Live it's so annoying when my whole team is down on the court and I'm driving and wanna dish it out to my best (and presumably wide open) shooter and then I GET A BACKCOURT ON T-MAC BECAUSE HE'S NOT EVEN PAST HALF COURT YET UGH THIS HAPPENS LIKE THREE TIMES A GAME.
Kidd 11.4 PPG 8.4 RPG 10.7 APG Nash 16.9 PPG 3.5 RPG 12.1 APG James 29.7 PPG 7.6 RPG 7.4 APG The closest to a triple double is Jason Kidd. Lebron is the closest to the stats you want from T-Mac and he's still 3 to 5 rpg off. Steve Nash is nowhere close. Your expectations might be just a tad bit unreasonable.
remember bucher and yao are boys...bucher wrote yaos book. he has always been a tmac hater...everything is the coaches fault and tmacs according to the bucher man
I did not say average every game but, he should be able to approach a double double most nights and a triple double at least every so often. If our bozo shooters are doing something other than throwing up bricks. Like I previously said, less shots perhaps a few less points and work more at getting teammates involved. A balanced lineup is FAR too difficult a task to defend.
the 3 players u posted handle the ball A LOT. we all want tmac to handle the ball LESS and let the creativity flow from the offense. we only want him to create when we are in a drought and need some creativity. in this offense, he'll RARELY approach triple double numbers simply b/c he won't handle the ball enough to get 8-9 assists; he won't outrebound yao/scola/hayes/landry who are beasts on the boards. but he'll score more efficiently as he gets healthier (remember he shot 45% earlier on).
Did you see his 3 on 1 dunk against the Spurs where he elevated just fine? Sure looked fine there. Did you see the game sealing block against the Sonics? Looked fine there again. He may be hurt, but it seems like he has selective memory about it more than anything. Personally, I think it's more in his head than it is in his knee. But I'm not going to talk you off your point, and vice versa.
Possibly, but the question I have is what do the DOCTORS say about this type of injury? Can he hurt it any worse playing on it? How long is the full recovery process on it? Which one of his injuries is the most severe? I hate Houston reporters and their lack of asking legitimate questions. DD
Let's hear it T-Mac haters, keep talking your crap. Brush this game off like it was nothing, but right when we need to make our run, he comes up huge. When this guy just lets go and plays, he's UNSTOPPABLE. Keep posting your stupid trade threads, he's a top 5 talent and he ain't leavin. I believe!!!
He saved the game, BUT...he missed 2 crucial FTs and he let his man get a wide open 3pter to win the game. So, he was good...AND lucky tonight. DD
I've refrained from posting in this thread until now, but ... That pump-fake-step-back-fadeaway-nothing-but-net-three-pointer was so vintage, I nearly had an orgasm.
It was good we won and Tmac played well, but needing a last minute come back against one of the worst teams in the league to barely escape with a win is hardly celebration worthy if the team hopes to be more than first round fodder.
great win. i'm convinced now that will make it to the playoffs with him. however, there's still a little rust on him. he seemed tentative and not sure who to pass it to during the last minutes. durant is not known for his defense, but he was white on rice with macgrady. sonics really wanted a win.
Let's concentrate on a) keeping McGrady and Yao healthy, and b) making the playoffs in the first place. But whatever you say, Mrs. Rick Adelman, whatever you say...
I like how it seems Tracy is trying to lead more. During one of the timeouts last night it seemed like he was yelling in the huddle to get the team pumped up and attentive. Or so it seemed.
I don't agree with those who went way off on T-Mac, but may be a little premature to throw it back in their faces. I don't know many who question his talent, but his leadership, guts, toughness, mentality, etc. have been in question. It was nice to see him come up big late.
