I have to go with Unsure. The top ten teams will be Portland Denver Utah Phoenix Lakers Warriors Hornets Dallas Spurs Rockets I guess Hornets Dallas Spurs Phoenix Lakers Utah will be the top six. Portland Denver Warriors Rockets will be competing for the last two seats. So we need to check every team's schedule for the rest of the season. Then we may come to a vague conclusion. It has toooooo many variables in the matrix. So I'd say Unsure.
Rick Adelman need to crack the whip on these players like JVG did. Talk is cheap, time to buckle down and plow ahead of the bottom group. Playoff is not only a possibility but a must
Rockets will be at least a six seed. Lakers Blazers Warriors and Nuggets are due for a big drop-off, Blazers and Warriors from their schedule and Lakers and Nuggets from injuries. My guess is that, despite the Western Conference looking really deep right now, things will revert to their old ways and Dallas Phoenix and SA will emerge once again as frontrunners, with Utah and Houston right next to them. I think San Antonio won't even make the conference championship: they are still the defending champions and have earned the marks on their backs this year. Notice how they've never gone back to back.
At the midpoint,let's do a math.Now we are 22-19,so we will get (22-19)*2=44-38 finally,and considering we were not fit with RA's system at the beginning of the season,considering the injury,considering the tough schedule ... so,the realistic record should better than 44-38. A 44win(maybe better) ensure us make the playoffs.last year,Warrior get 42win,and still make the playoffs. I believe!
Chad Ford talks about the Rockets playoff chances, 2 times on his radio show, once at about 8:50 and the other right at the end, he thinks they will make it by the way. http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/player?context=podcast&id=3208569 DD
if we want to get out of the first round: face either lakers, denver, portland, or utah. we can face denver or portland if we get the 5th or 6th seed, presumably the 5th b/c i think the team that wins that division will have the 4th best record.
1/23 at Sea W 1/25 at Por W 1/27 at Uta L W 1/29 at GS L W ==================== 2/1 at Ind W 2/2 st Mil W 2/4 at Min W 2/7 vs Cle W 2/9 vs Atl w 2/11 vs Por w 2/13 vs Sac w ..... So I belive in end Feb we will at least 35 win go Rockets
You have to be mentally brain dead to believe we're not going to make the playoffs... This is the Houston Rockets who went 7 games every time they were in the playoffs... Last years playoffs, the rockets/jazz were the only playoff teams to go 7 games....
I have to believe this team can put together a run to make the playoffs, but there are a lot of variables. Heck, even if the Rockets had the exact same record for the rest of the year, there is the distinct possibility that they could pass up a couple teams by default by other teams stumbling (not that you bank on that). I think the fact that the Rockets are a couple games over .500 is very lucky given these variables: 1. New coach/system 2. Injuries to T-Mac and even some missed games by Yao 3. Insane schedule to start the year The fact that the Rockets have shown they can go out and beat some of the top teams this year makes me feel good. They've had some big wins against the Lakers, Jazz, Spurs, Suns, etc. Some of them were even tough road wins. Also, despite some of the struggles, I feel like there is some talent that will start playing better that has played poorly so far on the roster so far. I also think the emergence of Scola, Landry, and Brooks as bonifide NBA players can be key. I think the Rockets stand a good chance at making the playoffs. I would also think this would be a team that everybody in front of them in the standings will be worried and looking over their shoulder at. I also think that all the top seeds would HATE to play this team in the first round. I will admit, I have been disappointed this year. We've lost some stupid games for stupid reasons. I can think of about 4/5 games that we just flat gave away this year that would significantly affect our record. We've lost at least two games that I can think of because we just couldn't hit a darn free throw. We've lost a game recently due almost totally to laziness/carelessness with the ball in the fourth quater with turnovers..almost like any one of those possesions would have been enough to not lose if we hadn't turned it over. Anyways, I usually don't post in the GARM, but I feel positive. I still believe that T-Mac is a star. I still believe that Yao is the best pure center in the league. I believe this roster is an upgrade in talent. I believe that we will have some rookies make a positive impact in the second half of the season. I believe that the coach's system will become better each week. I may just be too much of a homer and always too positive, but darn it, I like the talent on this team, despite its faults and think they can play with anybody any night. They just have to get consistent.
It all depends on how we play every game. IF WE PLAY LIKE WE WANT TO WIN BADLY, then we will get into playoff.
they'll make it. the question is what will they do when they are IN the playoffs. the organization and fans don't care about the 1st round anymore. we want success. we want wins. we want RESULTS. even if we have a tremendous 2nd half and go into the playoffs as a 6th seed and LOSE in the first round, do you think anyone consider the "comeback" in the reg. season a great feat? to the team, esp. tmac and yao, the only thing is RESULTS. they MUST win. we have to stop making excuses for our stars. individually they have produced pretty much to warrant playoff success. but it goes beyond that. both have proven they are not tough enough in clutch situations to bring the team over the hump. tmac and yao have a lot to prove. this team has a lot to prove.
"41 games left to decide our fate" Since when do fans not consider themselves part of the collective team effort? That's what "our" means in that context. Dear God, I shouldn't have to explain this.
I guess the biggest disappointment is that we are even discussing the possibility that they won't make the playoffs this year. In the beginning of the year, people were talking about competing for the division. Now we have to fight our way into the playoffs. It never occured to me that there was even a possibility that we'd miss the playoffs going into this year.
You can't count teams like Lakers Portland or Golden State out of playoff contention, esp how well the Lakers have been playing. I want to say we would, but i have doubts.
If we finish with a W/L record that is among the eight best W/L records in the Western Conference... Then we'll probably make the playoffs... If not, we'll probably miss out... Spoiler
NO is gonna fade. they rnt great defensively n their only offensive play is a freakin lob to chandler.
I think we can make the playoffs. But I have no confidence that we can win a 7 game series against Phoenix, SA, Dallas, or Utah. Our best chance would be SA.
