I dont know about all the OP said, but I do know that the team is better with T-Mac. Now, about the ball movement the last two games. When the shots go in, ball movement looks great, since you swing it around to get open shots, and those shots go in. But when you swing the ball around and the shots we get(while good shots and what you are looking for in the flow of the offense) dont go in, folks say bad ball movement, stagnant offense, etc. I do think there has been adjustments going on out there, but for the most part the ball movement and movement without the ball has been there. T-Mac has been a bit slowed, but he is still moving without the ball when he is supposed to. You will notice that the Rockets usually have a triangle on the strong side, and a pair of players off the ball on the weakside. Those guys usually are waiting on a certain occurance strong side to make their cuts. The only time I saw T-Mac standing was when he was in one of those positions. There were also several deflections where the Rockets got what they wanted, they just missed the pass or left it open for Seattle to get a piece of.
I like the experimentation, too. I was a fan of the steadier Van Gundy philosophy, but I'm willing to entertain the idea that he was wrong (too "wed" to his favorite guys, as you put it) and that Adelman's shift toward variety is giving us more options and opportunities to see what works. I just wish we could combine the new experimentation with the old work ethic.
Will, I've been punding the stump with the idea that Adelman is a system coach who will force his style of play on a roster. With JVG, we had a coach that did the same thing, but at least JVG got his players to follow his lead. Adelman, on the other hand, seems to lack the knack for getting his team to buy into his offense. Too many changes begets inconsistency and its twin brother, mediocrity. That's what we are: inconsistent and mediocre. And I blame Adelman as much as I blame T-Mac for those twin issues. -P1st, S2nd
Yes...a better statline for T-Mac would be a triple double...are you expecting that on average or something? I think he had a pretty good game overall for his second game back from injury.
Where are all the TMac bashers with their oh so witty "McLady" comments now? We beat the Spurs and the Sonics (though the sonics should have been easier) This team is clearly better with TMac out there, even not at 100% Oh yeah, to all of those saying he was faking (Old Man Rock and the bunch), clearly he is still hurt and playing through the pain. I got a lot of laughs out of those of you who said we were better off with him injured.
Im still not sold on rick at all we are barley winning agianst scrub teams!besides the spurs game i might add!
what can you do? they're tracy haters. it's fine when people criticize tracy for his lack of winning. but when you call someone a "McLady," your hate for that player is too strong. and i don't know how anyone can hate anybody like that.
"a championship direction"? Man, are you day-dreaming or what? It's still hard to tell whether Tracy's contribution worth the 20 million the team roughly pays him to play. He has not played like a superstar but with superstar's pay ...
so that's the angle that the bashers are going to take now that we are winning with TMac back in the lineup.
Uh ... yes, he should be averaging a double double and close to a triple double every game. Yes, I don't think that is unreasonable. Kidd can, Nash can, LeBron can, why can't T-Mac get more of those? He's a brilliant passer so we need more AB, Scola, Landry and even a few Novak sightings for Air Bullard-esque three's. He knows how to get guys the ball they just got to freakin execute. Our shooting collectively is STILL atrocious! So, if he has less pressure to score 30+ every game. He can better utilize his energy to be more an impact on both sides of the ball and on the boards.
I'm right here. McGrady may still be hurt or not 100%, but I still think he's more of an attention-w**** than he is an injured basketball player. It's interesting how he limps up and down the court until he gets a fast break dunk or hits a Sports Center reverse layup and then he can all of a sudden run back down the court just fine, sans limp. And I've said all along that if he comes back and dominates like this team needs that it almost makes all the b****ing about him worth it. That part's still a work in progress.
Did you not hear how his injury is just like Harrison's (of the Colts)? That guy sat 10 weeks and was still not 100% during their game with San Diego. While I agree that T-Mac is as fragile as Stephon Marbury's sanity, he is by no means faking his injury. Eh, but whatever floats your boat. Your opinion is as good as any, I suppose.
Did you see the first drive of his against the Sonics? He had a wide open lane and couldn't explode from a stop, so the other layer was able to seal him off and poke ball out of bounds when T-mac was going up for the layup. The guy has almsot no explosion. That reverse layup was nice, but he barely got off the ground and was a result of his amazing length moreso than athleticism.
