I think Rudy and Carroll know at this stage that their 3 for 1 gamble paid off and that Griffin is a potential superstar. I also think they care more about his confidence, health, and offensive game than they do about his minutes.

I predict that if the Rockets are able to win some games without him starting, Rudy keeps the status quo in the rotation (like it's really been established) and waits for Eddie to make an even bigger impact next year.

That being said, what should his summer workout be?

My prediction: 8000 calories a day. No aerobic activity. Maybe some weights.

Jim Boylen teaches him some footwork. Larry Smith teaches him how to bury elbows into Karl Malone. Kevin Willis teaches him how to lean back and toss in the baby hook. And to top it off, Carroll Dawson comes down from the executive office and teaches him the drop step, shake, and bake.

    Then he starts.

What's up with no aerobic activity. Eddie needs stroke it...just like any man does.

    As for starting:

Rudy is just buying time until Cato demands more playing time so he can officially bench him for Griffin.

Man, I want to bench Cato soooo badly. If Nelson can bench Bradley, why can't we bench Cato.... :(

let Dreamcaster and Latrell Sprewell try to figure out where Griffin is on the court.

Does anyone know if Pete Newell is going to have his big man camp again? I thought I heard that last summer's camp was the final one for him. If I'm wrong, I think Griffin would benefit immensely from this (as well as the Rocket's own coaches).

I don't like the no aerobic activity either. He needs to keep those legs and muscles springy so he can maintain the great vertical for shot blocking.

I don't know exactly what Indiana did with Jermaine O'Neal, but that is exactly what Eddie needs to do. O'Neal has bulked up plenty over time, but he is still lithe, fast, and can jump through the roof. He is exactly the kind of player I hope Eddie turns into (except Eddie will block more shots :D).

If Eddie is going to bulk up, he needs lots of calories turning into muscle. He can't be wasting them on running up and down the floor all summer. That's why he needs a soloflex and a playstation 2 in every room of his house.

And Rice and Cato notwithstanding, he probably could use the pre-season to get back in game shape.
