there is no doubt we are far better with him than without him. and as an aside...i really like how adelman experiements with his starting lineups and rotations...he is not wed to anybody...i mean what coach would have the guts not to start mcgrady? what coach would have the guts to start head recently and then only play him some chump minutes tonight? what coach would play alston the whole second half? adelman has got this group going strong right now and moving in a championship direction
yes and let's be sure to make three threads a day of these during our easy streak. even then it won't even out all the pessimism on this forum. nothing will. it's like the law of entropy in thermodynamics: thou shalt never break even.
The very misleading thread title says McGrady but, of course, you have 7 sentences, 6 of which praise Adelman. Can you give this Adelman worship a rest? Why are you so pre-occupied with putting him on a throne? We already know how you feel about him and repeating yourself a zillion times won't make any more people agree with you. Adelman will be judged based on his decision-making and the results on the court, not by your juvenile pandering.
i agree we would have lost this game without him, but our offense has not looked at smooth as it did durning our streak
noticed that too...even against crappy team like Seattle....our offense looks stagnant...maybe cuz we couldn't make open shots..i mean 1/11 for threes....that's ****ty..
that's true.. SHane was 1/5 from threes today i think.....i recall all 5 were WIDE OPEN corner shots.. i mean...at least he should make 3 out of 5....this offense won't work if people keep shooting 8% from 3 point lines..
we moved the ball fine. but when you miss shots, what can you do? the first half, the ball movement was exceptional w/ the lineup of tmac, head, brooks, scola, and landry. but head and brooks missed 3-4 straight 3s. we moved the ball very well except for the starting unit. now that unit was just god awful.
i havent always agreed with dennis...but i am happy to read something positive in the GARM for a change.
yes....lol.....our motto was "it's time" for a championship... btw...you probably noticed too, rox has been named one of the most disappointing teams this season in multiple media outlets..
This assertion is a bit presumptuous. For the Rockets to become legit playoff contenders much less, championship contenders, T-Mac, need him to be more efficient with his shots. Have him be more the play maker. He can help elevate everyones games because he commands double teams. A better line for T-Mac would be 20 pts, 12 assists, 8-10 rebounds 4 stls 2 blocks. He needs to work at filling out the ledger. I am really eager to see how he works with Landry, Scola and Brooks in particular. T-Mac needs to be driving to the hole more and less long range perimeter shots. On another note, I am encouraged by Yao taking more command of games on both ends. Looking a lot better, playing more consistent and his shooting has been a lot better. About today's game, if you're going to have a crap game especially from 3 pt land, good that you have it against a bad team, Seattle. I hope the lineup selections are little more coherent, I mean Landry should have gotten a few more minutes today. Brooks? Did not play in the second half. Again a head scratcher.
I agree with that he needs to be more efficient as a scorer (although pre-knee injury he was over 45% shooting), but I disagree that he needs to be more of a playmaker. When you use him more as a playmaker you get what you got last year...T-Mac dominating the ball, and everyone standing around the perimiter waiting for an open 3pt shot. This hurts the offensive flow, and for some players minimizes their overall abilities on the court and limits them to something they may not be. It also doesn't take advantage of T-Mac's best attribute-scoring. As I have said many times, T-Mac simply needs to be an option offensively, with scoring being his primary goal and getting T-Mac into a position where he can score efficiently being Adelman's goal.
I just think that depending on what the D dictates that he can elevate everyone else's game out there, he's a brilliant passer and should averaging more double doubles if not, triple doubles. If he starts doing that consistently then, yes IMO we can become the playoff powerhouse many pegged us to be early on. But, if he's not more balanced in filling out the ledger on the scoring sheet, then IMO we could be right back to the same scenario in the playoffs as last year. t is important for this team to develop more scoring balance and continuity otherwise, we will once again be exposed in the playoffs. Right now, our offense is too damn inconsistent!
