was that dave chapelle they showed? i have it streaming on my comp and wasn't really watching, just listening.
Saw some parts of it and it was ferocious! WOW! I have never seen any presidential nominee debate come close to that. I'm not a big believer in using debates to judge candidates but that was worth taking some time away from the Pistons/Magic game. I knew Hillary and Obama disliked each other but they put it on clear display.
From all accounts, this really got ugly. A few things were brought out about Clinton that deserve mention. 1. She sat on the board at Wal-Mart (who is anti union) until her husband's first term was ending and he was running for re-election. How politically convenient. 2. She voted for the Bankruptcy Reform Act when it did not pass and abstained from voting in 2005 when it surely had the votes to pass. This is a law that has helped creditors and has hurt a good many regular old people. How convenient that she distance herself from it (by abstaining, not voting against) only when it was sure to pass. It is becoming more clear by the day that she only cares about perpetuating her own power, and that anything she says about being the voice of change and empowering people is merely lip service. She is truely a dishonest person.
Of course Edwards is going to look decent when Obama and Clinton are attacking each other. He didn't "win" the debate because he masterfully argued his positions. He remained "above the fray..."
I just realized that we are witnessing something remarkably sexist in nature. A potential 'first gentleman' is firing at Obama and no one blinks an eye. And yet if a 'first lady' does this, the world does pay attention.
What a childish display last night by the democrats. Bwak and Hillaroid were slinging mud, shouting over each other, flailing their arms... Just nothing but constant sniping and destructive politicking. No fresh ideas, only criticisms. These people are supposed to bring our divided political interests together? HA! What a ridiculously false hope that is... God help us if either of them have a legit chance at commanding our armed forces, leading our economy, or securing our nation.
Had the people of Iowa let the polls decide who would get their vote then Clinton and I guess Giuliani would have won.
Edwards a good debater? Did you guys forget Cheney chewed and spit him out in the VP debates in 2004? PS After last night forget about a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket. I wonder who the VP will be...Edwards again?
I thought this was telling and accurate to say the least. "I have no doubt that once the nomination contest is over, I will get the people who voted for her. Now the question is can she get the people who voted for me?" - Barack Obama.
Did he say this during the debate? I think it's something a lot of people voiced - but I'm surprised he'd actually voice it. It will be interesting to see new aggressive Obama the next two weeks.
I find this hilarious Rocket River Never mind for DECADES [Centuries] The reverse has been true when the roles are finally flipped. . it is such a poor poor shame so wrong . . .so wrong
