In game 3 against Utah, only 3 players showed up.

He's a black Ryan Bowen. Bowen sucked, and Hayes sucks. Would you want Bowen starting on your team?! Hustle only gets you so much. If you have no offense, you don't need to be starting! I know 10 year olds who can make more free throws than Hayes. It's pathetic to be a professional athlete and have such a pathetic free throw stroke or shot! Freaking trade the man.

Just a general question for the board. Does disagreeing with this post make me a Chuck Hayes apologist? I'm trying to figure out what that term means.

It's anyone who doesn't agree with them that "Chuck is a scrub and doesn't deserve to play in the NBA" Durvasa.. so yeah, you are probably an "apologist" in their eyes.

If Chuck could be our Dennis Rodman and pull down 20 rebounds then yeah, we should start him.

He is a scrub. An undersized PF who has no offensive game whatsoever. A professional athlete should not be blowing so many easy layups!

I really love how Carl Landry is playing, hustle, energy, desire and motivation.

Plus Carl has athleticism that we need, dunks a lot and is a great offensive rebounder.

Scola altough is still adjusting showed that can be very promising player on a championship team.Loves to shoot, great offensive threat when teams are doubling Yao and can grab offensive rebounds.

I agree with all, but Chuck Hayes is just very very good defender.I assume you don't see his movement without ball, how he posts against other players and plays very good D.I wouldn't say he's an elite defender but he's a very good defensive player.Rebounds, hustles and has nice passing skills. When game is on line and when it's clutch time I'd go with him over Landry and Scola because they're still prone and make mistakes. No doubt Houston Rockets solved that big question around power forward position and found very good players from draft and ofcourse from Span trade.

I got your point. If Chuck is a key player at PF for a team, that proves said team is extremely weak at PF.

An apologist is a person who defends something to the point of advocacy. Used in this forum, it's a term of derision meant to attack your credibility because what you say comes from a biased viewpoint. For the most part, it dumbs down discussion. Just ignore it. People who go that direction hope the accusation itself will shut you up because facts won't.

That said, the term apologist does apply to some folks here who are completely biased and won't listen to reason. I don't think that describes you.

I agree...."There is a BIG difference in the energy and excitement level when Scola and/or Landry come on the court. The teammates feel it and the crowd at TC feels it."

The past games against the SPURS I saw SCOLA bother Duncan more than anyone on the team.....

What I saw and liked about Landry last night was the intensity and passion he brings to the game and from his team mates. The few minutes I saw him and Tmac play together it was very exciting....hey even bumped chest together.....than can be a sign of good chemisrty to come and most importantly some exitement from T-MAC!!!!!!!

Look as I said Hayes is consistent ... on defense and rebounding but, dammit you got to score to win in this league? Gone are the days of consistently shutting teams down. The talent level is becoming too good.

If you have multiple options and multiple abilities to score you force the oppositions D to play you, the Rockets honestly.

Hayes fills a need but, does not deserve more than 15 minutes on the court IMO unless specific match up situations dictate otherwise.

Never said he was worthless but, I did say we need to get more production out of our 4's. Scola and Landry CAN provide a consistent other element that in tandem with AB makes our team less predictable and more difficult to defend.

Exactly I mean when was the last time Rocket big men POSTERED Duncan? Landry just stole that rebound from Timmy and Yao wouldn't be denied. If we would have executed the offense better we should have gotten 4 to 6 more scores in the 4th plus, make a few more free throws but, the Spurs are good for a reason. They're a headache!

During a game I would like to see a lineup of:

    Yao
    Scola
    Landry
    Tmac
    Brooks

With that lineup you have hustle, blocking, rebound, quickeness, athleticism, post present, inside and outside game, and ball movement.... not to mention intensity and passion on the court. The only thing lacking might be a 3point shooter....but AB & Tmac are capable of hitting the 3ball.

Yeah, all you Chuck Hayes fans can take a facial to the face! (The Dunk kind of course) And for the record...Landrover and Ice Scola are here to stay!

You guys think that Chuck Hayes sucks? Or is a Ryan Bown clone?

That is just wrong, Chuck is a very talented defensive player, and does a lot of things very well on the court with a high B-ball IQ.....

He is severely limited on offense, but the rest of his game is top notch....which is well above Ryan Bowen.

That being said, I think it is time for Scola to start....our team needs an energy guy to ignite the fire in our passive stars Tmac and Yao...

And Scola just does something to get them fired up.....

Scola ....just got to love him..

The Ryan Bowen comparison was in context to how good they both are/were for the Rockets at drawing charges and just playing general pesky D. Hayes obviously is far better than Bowen ever was with his great rebounding ability.

I just want to see this team take better advantage of their weapons and utilize them to fullest capacity! Scola and Landry by bumping their minutes up we can potentially increase our points 4 to 6 maybe 8 a game! We need more balance in our lineup. IMO that's what it will take to get any where near rising back to the top. If a team like the Spurs eliminate your fast break ability you need finish better at the basket and you need Scola to hit that 15 to 18 footer to keep the D honest.

Yeah what more can you say about Scola? He's learning our game at a volumetric rate, he brings passion and excitement that we haven't had here in H-Town in a LONG TIME!

We can still do this thing! Have some faith Rocket fans! It aint over til its over! :D

Give more time to Landry and Scola, we will see how they effort.
Yao keep on stable in the forth quarter. Now Tmac is back. We need more team work than before.

I wish Bonzi played less and Landry ate up more of his minutes. Tired of seeing butter hands throw up bad jumpers that continually miss and losing the ball in his attempts to post up.

Landry actually has a good J and has been finishing with authority. I'm beginning to think Bonzi is getting too old to play this game. Yes, he rebounds and does some thing occassionally well, but overall, he has been very inconsistent and gives up as much in defense as he makes if not more.
