Remember him? I was just over at the NBDL site, and it seems he's leading the league in rebounds. They also list him as 7'2, 360 lbs. I remember when he was on the Rockets he was incredibly overweight, and he had some kind of attitude problem apparently. Does anyone know what it was he said that got him cut? And has anyone seen his play lately? Is he in shape now? Perhaps the Rockets should give him another chance. It has been two years.
Apparently he told Rudy he wanted to start, and when Rudy said 'no', Hamilton went of his nutter. (And straight into the nearest Maccas).
If Rudy gave him another chance it would be like him admitting that he needs Hamiltion to win and it would send the message that you can disrespect the coach without a consequence. He's a great hustle player who I really wouldn't mind seeing in a Rockets uniform but i just don't see it happening.
I think he ate one of the basketballs during practice... Insert your favorite Thomas Hamilton joke here!
He must be doing something right these days in order to be among NBDL's top players . . . but then, I haven't seen the games? Anyone here had a chance? Minor leagues fascinate me.
he actually gave Rudy crappola during a game by ignoring his instructions and complaining to him when he was pulled..he was cut a within a few days or so...then he ate all of Calvin and Bill's cookies during a timeout
Supposedly Hamilton was pissed that the Rockets didn't get free tacos or something to eat when they scored 100 points or more....so he left.
As bad as we may talk about the guy, he is extremely talented. He has great soft hands and is a very good passer. His problems has been his weight and he dissed one of the easiest coaches to get along with. If we did sign him it wouldn't mean anything and coaches will save face for wins. Latreel Preewell and Robert Horry are classic examples. If a team felt he could come and and be a instant impact, they would have been swarming over him with the lack of good big men. If, the big word, this guy came in at 300lbs, i could guarantee that teams would be beating down his door.
Thomas Hamilton was not extremely talented. How many "extremely talented" 7'2" players aren't making 5 million a year in the Eastern Conference?
