yao is extremely pessimistic after every loss. tmac is the same way. no wonder our team struggles when we hit hard times (clutch situations).

Seriously, doese any one know this Wangpeng well? It is very suspicious that these words have come out from Yao's mouth. I am not saying whether his words are good or bad. I am saying the statements above seem to be made up or decorated rather than word by word from Yao.

Any thoughts? (which includes you, OP)

Man..... how is that pessimistic?

Did you complete or have difficulty to understand the reading?

    He talked about

    • learning the values from the defeats
    • can't always live in shadows of defeats and the past
    • a change in attitude that the Rockets should not be complacent and be hungry for win
    • and he is confident that they can turn the situation around !!

The article is from Titan Sports, reprinted/reused by sina.com and other Chinese websites/newspaper.

So it is not from a reporter/writer from sina.com.

If Wang Meng is embellishing or decorating it up... If true, he is doing it consistently. And as for this being suspiciously made up; IMO it sounds like what Yao would say. Taking an equal share in the loss and not being sure how to change the results, Sounds very Yao-ish to me.

    Thx, mate.

I am confused the words Yao chose and presented. Later I found out that OP translated the article from Chinese into English. That is the problem that I was feeling a bit uncomfortable about.

Those who dare to take the responsibility to the loss and move actively forward are the ones who deserve our respect. I am glad that Yao has earned it.

    1) he said everyone has issues (and right now it's mid-season). so if you say you and your team still have issues, i say that's NOT optimistic.
    2) he said everyone's mood is low and nobody is willing to talk. that's NOT optimistic.

plus, the things you mentioned are basic quotes that EVERYBODY says after a loss--i.e. "we'll watch some tape and learn from these losses"; "we need to turn it around"... EVERYONE on this team has said that. so it's nothing motivational to say it now.

if he wants to make a statement, SHOW IT. if you want to turn it around and he said "IT'S ON ME" ala tracy mcgrady, then DEMAND THE BALL, YELL AT HIS TEAMMATES WHEN THEY CAN'T GET HIM THE BALL, GET A TECH WHEN THE REFS DISS HIM BLATANTLY EVEN IN THE FIRST. don't talk, show it to me and the fans.

T-Mac is good at talks, it is on me and then hide behind.

Don't blame Yao anymore, at least he is in the front and fighting... You are too hard on Yao

That is not being pessimistic to say everyone has problems/issues, and that every one's mood is down and low after a disgraceful humiliation by the lowly Philadelphia 76ers.

    THAT'S FACT !!

If this team is good and every one does not have issues/problems, do you think this team is now at this sh!!!!tty situation 20W 19L, slightly above 0.5 and positioned #10 in the Western Conference, far from everyone's expectation?

it's pessimistic to me to say that MID-SEASON, and how it's sad after EVERY LOSS. we heard it before. it hasn't changed.

and notice how your post is highly pessimistic ;)

all i'm saying is yao is saying the same basic things every time. we know. i've watched enough sports to hear all those things. it's not going to motivate nobody.

for the team to improve, yao needs to do those things i mentioned. and the things i mentioned are things he is unable to do consistently ever since his rookie year.

and when tmac returns, this team cannot depend on tmac much either. we struggle in the 4th WITH tmac too.

like i said, until we do it, all this talking is what it is: ALL TALK.

so pruyen, u can post it after yao does something that shows "IT'S ON ME"

just to clarify, tmac also said to blame it on him after the game 7 loss so he did not hide from his responsibilities.

yao is fighting to be a leader. but he's doing that OFF THE COURT with the talking. i need to see it ON THE COURT.

yao is more diplomatic in what he says than tmac. in fact, yao is much smarter than tmac and that's a fact. both say the same things, but yao says it in a more intelligent way. tmac says it like he's talking out of his you know what.

but both don't show it. and that's why this team is stuck in mediocrity.

I was just thinking it really doesn't matter that T-mac said it was on me after Game 7 loss...... we lost, it was history...

I agree 100% Yao should be stronger and step up when T-Mac is injuried, but he is a foreigner, he is not native, I can see on 4th quarter, Yao doesn't have control of the team.

Remember Shaq, if Shaq wants the ball, he gets the ball, no matter whether it is a good situation for him to have it.

When Yao wants the ball, he doesn't get it. That's why he is complaining that he can't run the game since he needs someone to pass the ball

Name me one other player of the Rockets that is playing the longest minutes, scoring/rebounding in offense, rebounding/blocking shots/help defense in defense and running himself tirelessly to death, playing anchor at both ends of the court, and continuously and consistently giving you 25/10+ in the Rockets with or without TMAC!!
