Problem is...do the Rockets have enough wins to keep waiting? I don't think so. If we were at least a couple of games above .500, I think McGrady could wait...but we're not.

I mean, it's just frustrating...Artest can get back from ELBOW SURGERY...to try to push the 15-21 Kings to playoff contention...

Yeah, I'm assuming certain things. But still, this all smells funny.

You know, if he just said "I felt okay when I started practice but as time went on my knee really started to hurt and I had to stop. I don't think I can play on Saturday" most people would just nod and go on. Keep it short and simple. When you babble on about how you're not "mentally ready" people start smacking themselves in the forehead.

T-Mac says some crazy stuff. Sometimes I wonder if he's on drugs.

There are certain injuries you can't play on. Bruises and bumps are one thing. And if this was the playoffs, I'm sure t-mac would get on the court and try to play.

But it's not. It's the regular season. And having him come back now and fight through it is not in anyone's best interest. You need to understand that.

It's the difference in a few regular season games versus really risking not only this season's playoff chances but future seasons as well.

YO DURVASA, It's technichally THE ASB.

You see what I was talking about at the beginning of the season? Like Dave said, this guy is so damn talented, he'll make you a believer after just one good game. But this guy doesn't give a **** about Basketball. I can't help but believe he would have returned this week if we continued our hot streak.

When the going gets tough, the soft don't play rough.

maybe he is watching ,waiting to see Yao's failure as a leader.
then,he can stands out as saver of the team .
this means a lot to this selfish guy.
then he can say i'm the NO.1 of the team, not Yao,as what he said in his blog

Dude, have you EVER had any kind of knee injury or problems?

I swear, people are bashing TMac to death over this knee issue when most of them wouldn't get out of the permanent crater in their recliner because they stubbed their toe.

I have issues with both of my knees and had surgery on one of them just two weeks ago. I had cartilage taken out of the other 3 years ago.

The BIGGEST hurdle to overcome with a knee problem is mental. Period.

You worry about planting and putting weight on that leg. You worry about stopping too quick from running. You worry about if you fall and hit your knee on the ground. And, as much as you try to psych yourself into not worrying, it doesn't matter. It's just a mental block in your brain. Then, you feel some soreness or feel a pop and you start worrying some more thinking something was injured again.

The knees are such a intrical part of an athlete's body it makes it a real battle to get completely over an injury to either one (physically and mentally).

Besides, hearing him talk about it today, again reminds me of how close this injury is to what Ahman Green went through this season. He too talked about how he could run straight perfectly fine but, when he started to cut and plant, the knee would flair up again and set him back. He continued to talk about how he was close to coming back every week because the knee was feeling alot better, only to have him end up in street clothes on Sunday because it was re-aggravated.

I'm not trying to flat out defend TMac. I've been a big supprter of his since coming to Houston but I have soured on him this season. But, this injury and all the "drama" surrounding it due to his physical and mental state, is really not debateable. There are REAL ISSUES he has to deal with this in trying to get back on to the court.

It's going to take some time and I would not be surprised if he is out another month or so. That's just the way it is. And, I'd say the exact same thing about this injury if it was Kobe, Lebron, Artest or anyone else in the league that people regard as "tough".

OK, I watched the video. The title of the thread made it sound like he wasn't coming back until after the ASB.

    There's still hope.

Tracy said about the negative things said about him "!00% of it is bull****."

He better be ready to back it up when he comes back.

I don't care what he says, he's not a politician afterall. if he's not ready, then he's not ready, nobody can force it.

and i do believe that he still wants to help the team and win, but what worries me is the fact that he's so injury prone, last year with the aching back, this year bruised knee, i just don't know how much help we can get from him in the future.

is it because the way he plays, "cut and explosive"?

Someone ought to tell Tracy that these interviews don't make him look good. He needs to shut up now. Nothing good comes out during a losing streak in a crappy season.

I love it how all these people who don't know a lick about sports seem to equate a knee injury with a bruise or stubbed toe that you can "play" through.

    It's almost f-ing hilarious. Almost.

Folks, why don't you go bash your knee into the wall, and then have someone twist it while putting pressure on it until you scream, and then for good measure have some one pull it too far up past verticle.

Now, it will swell up and hurt for weeks, but now...we want you to go run 5 miles on it on pavement and if you don't, you're a big fat hairy p****.

I bet most of you won't even go out and do your activity you do if you get a cramp from typing on the keypad.

No one here is a pro athlete or does anything that requires them to play through pain so please, spare it, all you do is sound like what you are - someone who knows nothing about your body.

this is his last straw b/c he's actually at practice. this is the first time he has tested his knees so i have no problem if he wants to get more practice in before returning. but we have another 3 days before the monday game. he HAS to be back at least for seattle.

but if he keeps extending it and it goes to another few weeks, then we know what is up.

but this is his first practice. everybody needs to chill. TODAY WAS HIS FIRST TIME ON THE COURT. it's obvious the knee will get sore and painful (it's predictable after any injury).

let's see how his knee responds tomorrow BEFORE he practices and how it responds after practice again. i still think there's an outside chance he'll play.

he doesn't want to have another setback until the season end......

because he won't be effective until he is mentally ready

well, he never has been ready......

    because he is still popular.

TOF, please, shake this guy, let him know that we need him back otherwise he won't be popular any more. Please
