Agree or not? http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=nba/misc/beyond.htm I say why not give them until end of the season? Worst case scenario is another first round exit; and if we do become a lottery team, we have more assets to make a trade...
Is it really that hard to do some simple research? I guess he never led the league in scoring at 32.1 PPG the year before, right?
Honestly, the experiment with the two superstars did not fail. The teammates around them failed during the experiments in the past years. The past failures in playoff to Mav and Jazz can all attributed to a poor contributions from the bench. Remember the game 7 with Dallas where our two superstars contributed more than half the score (60+ or 70+ pts) while in the Jazz series, there was a game that well we got zero from the bench. Only this year, their team mates looked better but with a new coach and system, the experiment sort of start from stratch again.
There's nothing noteworthy or compelling in this article. Just more useless hating from a guy that obviously doesn't cover this team. Blah blah blah....they've never made it out of the first round....blah blah blah Maybe somebody should email this guy and ask him to write a piece about the Memphis Grizzlies telling us how they're a failure because they've never even won a playoff game?
I wonder how many games they have actually played together and what their record is during that time? They have both missed so many games, that it has to be close to an entire season missed. That to me is the only real failing, that both seem to be injury prone. If one was always healthy it might be easier to figure out...... Let's hope Tmac is back Saturday and they remain healthy for the rest of the year......but don't bet on it. DD
Dude doesn't know what he is talking about if he thinks McGady is best suited for a run-n-gun team like GS or PHX.
Exactly. People want to trade him now, but I say give him the rest of the season to see if this new offense brings more success than the JVG style. Then again, that JVG style actually got us in the playoffs.
Wait til summer, than completely retool the team around Yao. A McGrady trade midseason is highly unlikely to take care of our issues. I doubt this season is salvageable, but if we're going to make a deadline trade, it needs to be role players for role players. Evan
The last word on the Yao-TMac era will be: "The Rockets were never able to surround their stars with the right supporting cast."
Tmac has never been in a team like GS or PHX. Maybe this dude is right. Tmac's ability can be more fruitful (as a team) when he doesn't do ballhoggin gplays.
what a horrible article. t-mac's career best is 32 ppg, not 28 ppg, and Yao was the reason we made the playoffs his rookie year? LMFAO give me a break.
Also, the Rockets didn't make the playoffs in Yao's rookie year, which was 02-03. Definitely lost all credibility there. Know the team before making an article like this. T-Mac and Yao has worked, but the bench never came through in the playoffs. If Van Gundy would have stayed, and the new players contributed like they are now, We would definitely have the best record in the NBA. Bringing in a new coach with a completely different system just really set us back big time.
To unload this f%cking p***y who now of all things whines about the depth perception in the hom arena. If it's such a hinderance to his game then why the f#ck does he launch heat-check 20 foot off-balance jumpers with defenders in his face all game long and exclusively in crunch-time This guy will never win anything. He's a born loser and the sooner we unload him the better value we'll probably get for him. It's not like his health or skills are improving with time now
I also hope they don't think like that but then a lot media and analyst thought so when we failed in the playoffs after leading 2-0, not once but twice. I personally thought Rockets would steam rolled Dallas when we nailed them 2 games at their home court. It was soooo close.
