He just seems clueless alot of the time. Pulling out players who are producing and bringing in others that aren't...not calling a timeout to try and break the other teams momentum...still has Hayes starting over Scolia...where's JVG when you need him. At least he would actually show emotion on the sideline.

Do I have confidence in him? Scale of 1 to 10, I give him a mid-7. He's not a screw up as a coach, but he isn't going to help us a contend at this rate.

Big thing to consider though, is - is there a significantly better coach out there that could get us playing with the elite?
Larry Brown and Scott Skiles might be the best candidates, and I'm skeptical. Brown does great work but he's as much a curse as he is a blessing. There's just not a bunch of Phil Jacksons or Popovichs out there.

I'd rather focus on roster changes first.

IMO, we need a coach with an attitude, someone with the same defensive mentality as JVG.

We need a coach who is strict, you now, a real jerk.

This team isn't working under RA's laissez faire type system.

We need a coach who has proven to take talented groups of players and help them reach their full potential.

    WE NEED LARRY BROWN!

Give him more time. On emjohn's confidence level, I'm at a five. I'm really skeptical, but he hasn't lost the Rockets many games himself. You just can't fire a coach after half a season, unless there's team mutiny or something.

I'm a very disappointed in how thing have turned out with Rick but we are in no man's land now. This thing has to be seen all the way through for better or for worse.

Rick stays even if this team misses the playoffs provided they make a very strong push after Tmac gets back. If the team misses the playoffs and is still playing like this in April then I think he certainly has to go unless we can trade for a Webber, Vlade, Bibby, Christie, Bobby Jackson and Brad Miller. Oh, and they all have to be 5-10 years younger than they are right now.

I think Tmac will be shipped out before Rick goes even if we get screwed on the deal.

This poll wasn't here when we won 5 games in a row. We shouldn't be fair weather fans and start pouting and acting funny when we lose but never say anything when we are winning. The Teams problems run deeper than adelman and Jeff aint here to make miracles out of nothing this season and even if he was here the miracles wouldn't last through this season with how the league is right now.

Maybe, just maybe, it's not always about the coach. It's a players league. Do you guys believe Doc Rivers is an excellent coach?

i am just extremely disappointed...not just yesterday's game...but also the entire damn season..

many people including me thought the rox's time as an elite team has finally arrived.....winning 50-60 games easily, confedrence champ..etc..etc..

we are 20-19 now...what a load of crap, elite team my ass...more like lottery team...

all in all, i feel that RA has ruined rox's identity. I loved the old rox of tough defensive mentality. .....right now, we have no identity at all, bad defense, stagnent offense....can't close out games....

Carlisle is worse than jeff van-gundy. You talk about slowing it down, you talk about every play call from the bench,You talk about rigidness. You really don't want carlisle,You are just un-happy with how the season is going so far.

Coaching change is very unnecessary carlisle is no better than rick adelman.Larry brown maybe a little better than the two but you most defintely don't want him. Neither coaches would get anything better out of this team with no point guard,no power forward,no real shooters,no 2nd atheltic 2 or 3.

This teams needs a few more parts,Jeff did miracles last season that you won't see for another 20 years of basketball from now which is like 1000 years in basketball life. Jeff was able to make this team walk on water without fear. Last season was a mirage and reality has set in

For what it's worth. In JVG's first season with Tmac + Yao at this time we are something like 2-3 games above .500. It's not over yet.

All that identity gave this organization nothing but first round exits. Jeff should have been coach of the year last season. This team starts chuck hayes, battier, rafer alston. 3 players that are 8th-9th men on other teams around the league. Jeff last season took 2 loafes of bread and 2 fish and fed multitudes,Jeff took nothing and made something out of it but in reality it was only temporary. Reality has set in about the true condition of talent that we have on this team.

You guys crack me up sometimes. I remember a lot people hated on JVG because he would always be running up and down raving like a madman. Supposedly causing distractions to the team. Now we have a coach that sits his ass on the bench with a cool demeanor, but since we are lost a game yesterday, now RA doesn't care. I wonder what you guys will complain of next.

Tom Thibodeau is an excellent coach. And he was our lead assistant last year.

I'm not happy with the situation right now, and I wasn't over the top to sign him as our coach, yet I would like to see how things pan out and wait for a full season before seeing him gone.

The thing about RA we knew when he came was his strength as an offensive coach. My only concern: Is the increase in offense going to be enough to offset the decrease in defensive. Given the 29 and 37 point outings in the 4th qtr by the opposing teams (in the last 2 games) leaves a lot of uncertainty.

More time? Why? I have seen enough. Isn't fair, may not be. He wasn't brought here to rebuild. JVG got 52 wins out of this group with less supporting talent. Adelman is simply the wrong fit, and I don't think the Rockets need to throw away a season to determine this.
