Who could the Rox get to help boost up their confidence? A superstar or even an all star will not do, as that will only meant trading away tmac or yao. Which will meant drastic changes to the whole system that Rox have invested 39 games in. I'm asking for a boost, someone that will inject energy, leadership or heart, or anything that anyone is clamming that Rox lacks. The only trade bait that have something of value is battier, bonzi and RA. maybe synder's expiring contract could come in somewhere. But i cant seem to find any trades that could fit in. Its either the contract do not match or there is no way the other team would be willing to trade. Its clear that we need a consistent 3rd scorer other than Yao and Tmac as they are injury to be happen or a certain match up that just kill the rox team. Head, bonzi, RA, scola all came out big in recent weeks, but they are not players that the team could depend on when 1 or both of our superstars are off form or unavailable. Yao is force to play in foul trouble, and this really hurt the rox in the defensive ends, but he have to play as he is the only player that is capable of putting up points. There are 39 players in the nba that is averaging 15-20 points currently, but i just cant find any that could fit the team. So what do you guys think?
We need an ice cold PG and can pass, hold on to the ball and hit shots in crunchtime. A PG is the guy who can dictate the speed, the confidence and the execution of game plan.
We need a power forward and a point guard. We need to seriously think about rebuilding around Yao ming.
Brandon Roy shouldn't be on the poll - there's no way in hell the Blazers give him up for anyone short of a Dwight Howard. I still fully believe bringing in Jason Kidd would immediately get us going, but a third team would be needed to make things work. Past that, I'm all for sending McGrady to Chicago this summer. Our critical need is leadership, not a talent upgrade. We've got the star power and depth, we just have a locker room that is sorely lacking in motivation and desire. If Rick can't get them to play on all cylinders, you need a player that can do so. Evan
Nothing like a dreamy thread after an embarrassing loss How about Head, Snyder, MJ and ___ for Bibby? Just a thought.
I vote Hakeem Olajuwon, but I don't think he's walking through that door. In all seriousness though, you couldn't get Brandon Roy (or Rudy Gay for that matter). You couldn't even get them for T-Mac, given the age, salary and injury history differences. It's not always the case, but that's what can happen to the value of a lottery pick 18 months later. We did get that late-season win in Denver though, which was clearly worth it for the winning culture that was planted.
At this time nobody because Rick Adelman is in his first year and is still figuring everything out. The team already has a base with 9 players from last year, few new acquired players and three outstanding rookies. The future looks promising, the only question is: how bad you want a championship ? You want it now, then you certainly have to make some trades. If you want the team to build on this and be a real contender in 2-3 years then i say maybe a few if other teams are interested in them. I haven't seen Snyder play but i think he will not get any playing team and he will not add anything so he's an option, Wells and Head are too streaky so they're options too, Hayes maybe if you can find a good deal for a veteran who can score and defend (Horry maybe ?) and Mike James is definetly an abundance. But like i said: our bad / streaky players don't look like people other teams would be interested in except for Hayes and Rafer. I have much confidence in our rookies, they will definetly become starts in a year or two but for now they're good off the bench. Novak will never be a starter but to me he's like Bullard seen his stats. Bullard was an average defender but a pretty good passer and a damn good three point shooter. From the games Novak played some nice mins he always had a few three pointers so he will be good for us coming off the bench. I would like to see more playing time for Mutombo because i loved him when he was with Denver. Shaking his finger when he blocked a shot and dunked all over the place, i would love to see that guy a few times this year if he's able to. Then there's Francis who nobody wants but can stay imo because he can be a spark off the bench and he's a fan favorite. Maybe if his knees are too bad he will retire after this year so. If i have to pick some1 we should trade for right now it would be Sam Cassell for Mike James, Bonzi Wells and Rafer.
we need a point guard. that's our only problem. with a PG like Kidd rest of them would look like all-stars. take a look at nash, Deron, or Pau. everyone benefits from a great PG.
oh lord, 2 to 3 years? man Yao maybe able to wait, but Tmac is hitting that hill now. if you think rox should contend in 2 to 3 years, then my advise would be to trade tmac now.
I hope the Rockets don't make a stop-gap trade just to try and salvage the season while mortgaging the future. Unfortunately, given the organization's history, I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen come February.
