I can only take so much! I've never seen a guy accused of quitting when had 29pts,13asst,5rebs,and 3blks. Maybe he quit in game 6? I guess 26pts 10rebs and 3asst is quitting. Maybe we should say Ming quit because he had more turnovers 8, than rebs 6 in game 6. I guess he quit in game 7 with another 6 rebound game? Give me a break.

Yup! he sure doesn't try for us, thats why

    1. We are 25-52 without him, while he led us to 20-12 without Yao last season.

    2. We have two 50+ seasons in his only two full seasons with us (the one season we sucked was when he was hurt). In the last 10 years before he joined the Rockets, number of 50 games season we had? zero.

No need to argue with them, it won't change anything. Mac has been treated like criminal lately, he's basically got blamed for everything. So what? Once he's back he will shut them up with his performance. We just need to be patient and trust him, let's see who laughs last.

I think if the guys that do this for a living haven't found such a "deal" out there, it doesn't exist. Tracy is a Rocket for good or for worse, which ever way each fan looks at it.

NBA.com power rankings comment for the week:

"The Rockets had won five straight and were on the brink of No. 6, but they blew a late lead to the Hornets on Sunday. Tracy McGrady could be back by the weekend. We'll see then if the 13-15 start was all his fault."

Kinda overly simplistic, but it fits with the theme of the thread I suppose.
I'm excited to see this team gel. Excited to see Tracy get back and excited to watch the team respond.

We posters in tihs forum are normal fans too. If majority of posters here feel disgusted by this guy, what made you so sure that people in stadium won't have the same feeling? I mean those guys actually paid good money to watch the team's play. Shouldn't they be more pissed by his bad performance?
I'm sorry, but the fact is that he used to be able to put people in seats, but he lost this ability now. because fans now expects him to lead the team to the top level, and he failed to meet people's expectations, and he failed huge !

    How did he fail?

Because he never had the team that could lead to second round?

He isn't Michael Jordan, heck Kobe Bryant that you claim can't pass first round.

Oh yeah he won 3 titles, because HE HAD GOOD TEAM DAMN!

I think the notion and obiously reason is that without Tmac, we are missing a star player. of course, his team would be better with another star in the lineup. The question is, does that star has to be Tmac?

What we need is a star player accompany with Yao. Right now Tmac is that only star or super-star.

If we can get somewhat equal or less value player for tmac would it be better off?

Do we need two superstars on the team, or one superstar and one star?

I think magic was implying that same notion. will two superstars work in a team?

take a look at the last decade or two on NBA championship teams, do they all have two superstars?

    -bulls - jordan
    -houston - dream
    -lakers - shaq
    -spurs - duncan
    -piston - billups
    -heat - wade

they all have great star accompany the superstar, but no two superstars at the same time.

The closest we got was kobe and shaq, but it was shaq in his prime and kobe emerging as the super-star.

we have this situation where tmac is in his prime and Yao is emerging. however, tmac isn't taking the backseat and becoming that star.

I"m no T-Mac apologist. My favorite player is Yao, followed by Brooks and Scola. That said...

Is my memory bad, or just a few months ago, weren't we 6-1 with T-Mac leading the league in scoring (or 2nd) and mentioned as a possible MVP candidate?

Wasn't that this season? Less than 30 games ago?

I think fans are so spoiled and writers either to lazy or brain dead to say, but sometimes your team just runs into a better team, no matter what you do.

There is a such thing as underperforming, but I wouldn't call that quitting. Indy and Dallas underperform, but that doesn't mean they quit...they just got outplayed.

Some players, like Malone, Shaq, Ewing, and others didn't well alot of times at the end of games and let the SG and/or PG take the big shots. That doesn't mean their quitting, it just means the defense and teams making harder for them get the ball or keeping them out of the post.

It's like a fight that you lose, you don't necessarily lose a fight because you quit...the other person just either fought smarter or was totally amped out.

If you're on weaker team, what do you expect just for one player to win one series by himself? There's almost no players that could do that, ..... The Bulls never got past the first round until started to get more talent and played over their heads against the Cavs who might've been the third best team that year.

The definition of "superstar" is up for debate but I think it is safe to say that most people would consider Pippen and Drexler superstars. I do see your point but the problem never was "two superstars." It has always been injuries, lack of supporting players and no real leader on the court.

This season the Rockets have all of those problems AND a new coach who seems to have lost his touch when it comes to coaching as well as a superstar who misses his foster daddy, JVG.

If he thinks that he never had the right teammates to make it to the second round, then why did he say "It's on me" last season? And, for this season, the slogan is "It's time". Is it a slogan a club would use if they don't even feel having a legit play-off team? Don't use teammates as cover for his bad performance. We all see how the same group played during his absence. And look at his stat now, do you think the club would still give him the same 20mil contract if he played like this three years ago? I sure hope he can come back soon and recover to the level of Orlando time. But until now, he doesn't deserve his 20mil. Look, Yao's salary is 13mil this year, do you think his contribution on court worths 7mil more than Yao?
