This is the kind of thing that can derail their season. Kwame is Kwame and will always be Kwame. When Bynum gets back, my bet is he will not return to form this season. Look for the Lakers to take a tumble downward without a decent center.
A long road trip but tough? look at most of the opponents they are playing I honestly wouldnt be suprised if they posted better than a .500 record on that 8-9 game trip even without bynum. i dont think the lakers will tumble like last year, they may come down from where they are right now but i see them easily being a 4-5 seed.
Good time for Rox to make a move! But still need another top 8 team to tumble down... Doubt it will be GS as they have a very very easy schedule remaining. Denver, Portland, Utah...will have to be one of these 3
Bynum has come a long way and he's one of the reasons the Lakers are playing as well as they are. The kid is avg a double double now. Hate to see him get injured but the Rockets have to many teams to catch just to make the playoffs.
I hope the Lakers crumble with Bynum out. That gives us more of a chance. Kind of sad we are shooting for playoff contention instead of fighting for a high seed.
These kind of injuries are interesting because they show just how valuable certain players are to their team. Dave Berri claims that Bynum has been their most valuable player. If that's true, expect the Lakers to slump big time.
This is the NBA where any team can beat any team. The Lakers without a GC (Good Center, a name Shaq gave to Yao when he first came to the league ) all of a sudden will drop almost to the level of bottom feeders. If they don't have Bynum by then that long road trip will kill them no matter who they play agaist.
LOL let's see if the Lakers can win 52 games with their "star center" out for 8 weeks, like Yao was out for 32 games last year. We'll see how good Phil Jackson is now
