i loved the original series and was looking forward to watching this, but the acting was horrible, i couldn't buy the characters and some of the sets looked so fake. My girlfriend and I couldn't even finish through the commercial break.
Same here. I loved the idea, but in reality, it sucked beyond imagination. I didn't make it through the first hour.
I haven't watched it yet (it's DVR'd) but I've been hoping for this to come out for years. I've read all of the Lonesome Dove series books and Comanche Moon is by far my favorite. I almost have the book memorized it feels like, so I mostly expect to be disappointed by the TV series, but it sounds like it's going to be worse than I expected from your reviews so far. Oh well, I highly recommend the book to anyone that liked Lonesome Dove. I'll watch the first episode tonight.
Seriously, after you guys watch it, tell me how they pulled off the eyelid removal...I'm really curious.
