Just surfing the net and stumbled across this. It's a model of the Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier built to scale with Lego Minifigs. It's 15 feet long and 350lbs. It took the guy 13 months, $20,000 and 300,000 bricks to build. Insane. More pics and info here I always wanted to build a scale Death Star when I was a kid- this guy gives me hope.
I was about to say the same thing. Is that from lost wages? I know this took a ridiculous amount of time and legos. Did legos go up in price like gas?
I wonder how much the book with step-by-step instructions would be. Would have to come in a 1000 page biweekly subscription. Don't loose any of them or your screwed!
After some quick googling, the average price of Lego bricks can range from .07 on up, so it seems like a pretty accurate price tag.
I wanna make a joke, but I don't have $20K to blow on a hobby. I wish I did, well I wish I had 10K pounds since it's stronger than the dollar. Here's another crazy way to use 10,000 British pounds: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0-Bje2VkEvM&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0-Bje2VkEvM&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
