seriously, there should be some kind of punishing system for refs when they make false/mistake calls!!! just think of soccer sport in europe, refs often gets beaten by the extreme fans if they made bad calls!!!!!
Scola wasn't in the game and anyway it was a good shot, and in line just didn't get in. When you get harmer two time in a row that lead to 5 easy fast break points instead of him shooting 4 FT and fouling out Tyson Chandler way before he did. And we talking about hard fouls in front of the official. Its hard already to beat a good team without Tracy and now against the refs at crucial time.
I LOVE that idea of fans beating them up for making obvious bad calls! LET'S DO IT! BEAT UP THESE CORRUPT GAMBLING REFEREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We can't change how the refs are going to call fouls, but one thing Yao has to learn is to hold on to that ball stronger when he makes his moves. He's going to get fouled, but somehow, he can't let the ball go. In fact, he'll likely get the call more if he can manage to hold on to it because it will make the contact that much more obvious. Part of the problem is that he extends his arms as he makes his moves, making it hard to hold onto the ball more firmly. If he can make his move with the ball closer in with his elbow out more it will make it more difficult for a defender to get in there and also give him a firmer grip so even if they grab his arm the ball won't come loose. What the ref will see his Yao whole body being pulled and call the foul, instead of the ball coming loose. He needs to do this because opposing teams have learned they can get away with reaching in on Yao.
Not if it's controlled by illegal business. The gambling aspect has it's hands in every game. It's all about the numbers and point spread it has to be that because most of these calls are blatant
That's a good comment. Big man bias or not, sometimes Refs are not seeing clearly and reluctant to call a foul on post play. You almost have to FORCE them to call a foul, in stead of relying on them to call a foul.
Then I would have put Scola back in for that. Even with the bad calls, we shot ourselves in the foot too many times to just say the refs solely lost the game for us.
WTF? My comments have nothing to do with YAO! Yao didnt make 25% 3pters did he? AND if i recall correctly he didnt miss lots of layups today either... My last comment was aimed at other players and the whole team in general. Sorry for the confusion tho
Hold the ball stronger? NOBODY cah hold the ball when slaped across the arms like Yao was on the late NON-CALLS!
in fact his being fouled constantly, two hands pushing on the back right in the FRONT of damn refs' eyes, and Yao never get those foul-calls. obvios if Yao just hold the ball strong and lean toward defeder, hes not gona get those calls, and meanwhile he looses the shooting touch...
But they are willing to blow the whistle although they didn't see how Bobby Jackson fell. On the other hand, although they didn't see how DH12 threw Yao down, that didn't prevent them to decide it's a foul on Yao. Yao is Asian, you can't change that. But I still want to say, it's on Houston fans. I have repeated it many many times, and I am still going to repeat that again. If the Toyota center doesn't have so many empty seats in low levels, if the fans are into the game like Kings, Lakers, or even Knicks, refs don't dare to rape the home team night in and night out, even Yao is an Chinese. If you have a hostile environment, punks like Terry and Harris wouldn't dare to show you off. If you have a real crowd, players won't be headless chickens in critical moments. This team has lots of shortcomings comparing to great teams, but this crowd too. Look at this board, you know how "good" Houston fans are, in the department of respecting their own players and the team, why would anyone else do that? It's not on the refs, it's on the fans.
Hold the ball higher when turning, making his moves would do the trick, reaching becomes much more obvious when ball is high and held close.
I know how it goes, I always had trouble as a big man getting the ball swiped and half the time it was across my arms, but i learned to hold on to that ball much stronger and move it more forcefully and quicker, and rarely lost the ball after that, even when a player got their hand on the ball legitimately at worst it would be a jump ball. Yao has to do that. He needs to develop iron grasp technique. He's so strong, he should hold onto the ball like he's trying to crush it, not like carrying an egg. If he does that, then when someone hits his arms it will create a lot more contact and be clear as a foul. But if he lets go of that ball, the ball goes doesn and his arms goes up and it looks like a strip.
Not denying Yao gets very bad refereeing at times, but refereeing big man is different. Home Crowd intimidation is overrated IMO.
I don't agree. Try it. Take a basketball and hold it gently with your arms fully extended. Then ask someone to take it away from you. Then Hold onto it tightly and see what happens. Then, Bring the ball close to your chest, put your elbows out, and hold on to it tightly like it's everything you own, and see if someone can strip it out away from you.
It's hilarious that with the new touch rules you're basically not even allowed to entertain the thought of evem touching a guard or impeding his movement meanwhile interior players like Yao continue to get brutalized night after night with intense physical play. Imagine Wade, Kobe or LeBron seven feet tall getting pushed around without getting any calls. How funny to see would that be?
