    Didn't see this posted !

    By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports

    3. Buyer beware: Trade for Tracy McGrady at your own peril. Around the league, executives will tell you that they believe the Rockets are willing to discuss trade scenarios for him. Once, T-Mac was considered a franchise player. He still gets voted into the All-Star starting lineup. Yet, his days as a dominant offensive force – never mind his chance to ever carry a winner – are over.

If I were the Rockets management ! I would stick this qoute right on Tmac's locker in Toyota center. If that's doesn't get him all fired up, what would make it then ?

"In response to your comments about Tracy McGrady no longer being a dominant offensive force or being able to carry a winner.....

To put it simply, I think you're off and attacking the wrong aspects of his game. As a Houston fan, I can openly admit that any analyst could have a field day with his durability issues and his apparent lack of passion for the game of basketball, at least during the regular season.

Attacking his offensive game or ability to carry a team is not the route to go. He's still one of the craftiest, attention-drawing and dynamic scorers in the game. If you ran a poll among 2/3's in the NBA I guarantee they would rank him easily as one of the top five most difficult assignments in the league.

Attacking his ability to carry a team is what really irks me. Yao missed 34 games last year. Who stepped up and kept the Rockets winning during that stretch? Winning 52 games in the Western Conference is no easy task especially on a one, two punch team playing with only one hand.

He's a marvel to watch when he's healthy and motivated. Those back, knee and personal issues never seem to be an problem in the postseason. They have too much talent around them now not to advance. I really think this will be the year he sheds the playoff monkey provided they keep winning.

Let's not forget about the Kevin Garnett dynamic here. McGrady is every bit the talent and player Garnett is. Amazing isn't it, that Garnett gets treated like he's some sort of basketball god, when in reality he's been out of the first round once? What happens to the public perception of McGrady should the Rockets muster up a strong playoff run like the T-Wolves did in 03/04?

Columns like this might read differently a year from now if that happens."

He is right, now T-Mac doesn't have to "dominate" the offense but be in the flow, so is dominant offensive force is over :D

I dont know... Number 2 in this article praises Reggie Theus. I am all for that. Questioning McGrady, praising Theus? I like it. I have much more love for Theus than I do McGrady.

I wonder who these "executives" "around the league" are. I'd bet these are guys who are trying to get TMac on the cheap hoping he'll salvage their season and their jobs.

Don't you find it curious that all the TMac trade rumors are centered around crappy crappy teams? I mean, there isn't a Dallas, Phoenix, or New Orleans trying to trade for TMac, is there?

Supposedly, the reason why they should trade McGrady is because he is "unhappy" and want out. You think he'd be happier playing for the New York and Chicagos of the world?

It's common knowledge I'm not a McGrady fan but the way he played at the beginning of the season was his best basketball or at least equal to as a Rocket. 28 ain't old and his back seems very healthy. I think the problem is that he never was able to "carry" a winner but if he can play like he did early in the season and the rest of these guys keep their confidence (and make shots) then we don't need him to carry the team. Also, I forgot we have a 7'6" guy who is playing out of his mind and stepping into the role of leader.

If Tmac comes back and not motivated, there is something wrong with him, and it is over.

It's newsworthy - if you look at the NBA right now, there's nothing really to talk about. No drug issues, Boston is winning the east, everything is in the mid-season duldrums.

Got to spice it up, find something to talk about.

    MANUFACTURE somthing to talk about.

T-mac is the flavor of the month.

    It's interesting to see:
"Tracy's health varies directly with the play of his team. If they're playing well, he's there. If they struggle at all, he starts to get pains in his knees, his back, his heart. He's known for taking plays off, especially if they don't involve him directly, and he chooses his spots on the defensive end."

I don't agree with the writer, but I do believe that T-Mac is at a turning point in his career. He WILL either rise or fall in the remainder of this season. Staying the same = fall.
