I bet the conversation went something like this:

Paxson: Hey Daryl, It's good to talk to you. I'm sorry that your season is going like it's going.

Morey: Hey John. The season's getting better. We're going to be okay. I'm sorry that the fans are calling for your head. I think you've done a decent job.

Paxson: Well, that's why I called to talk to you. Are you interested in trading McGrady?

Morey: Not really, but we're open to good offers. Is Deng on the table?

Paxson: I can't do that. We're committed to keeping Deng.

Morey: Then I can't let you have McGrady. We're still in it this season, so we need at least near equal value for him.

Paxson: That's what I thought, and I understand. One favor, though. Do you mind if I leak this to the press with few details? I really need to look like I'm doing something to soothe the minds of the fans calling for my head on a platter.

    Morey: Yeah, go ahead.

Paxson: Thanks, I needed that. Give me a call when you're in trouble, and I'll return the favor.

I’m sorry but this is BS. There is nothing credible in this article. The author says the Bulls GM contacted the Rockets about McGrady. That’s weak at best. I’m sure GM’s call to ask about other players all the time.

Is it possible to merge all these threads into one called “T-Mac RUMORS” until something credible does actually come up? Credible = a quote from someone from either team saying they have had discussions about trades. Discussions….not I called and asked. Credible = T-Mac saying I want to be traded or something like that. Anything else is just a rumor…..

Haha....I like the analogy although T-Mac at this point is like the chick that used to be really hot in high school but gained some weight and stopped tanning. She still looks good but there's always room for improvement and that "improvement" can come instantly at any given moment if motivated.

    Deng + Hinrich + Ben Wallace (salary purposes) + 2008 1st round pick + 2009 protected 1st round pick

    for

    Tmax + Mike James.

I would do that trade in a HEARTBEAT

All of this will go away when TMAC comes back, scores his points, gets his touches, and we still win. Then we win it all and TMAC will no longer be unhappy. Actually, if we can get past the first round, that'd be good. But since we are on the topic...

    Deng
    Thomas
    Hinrich
    Duhon
    unprotected 1st round

    for TMAC :D

CD was a lame duck and Morey was given "credit" for this disaster when it faintly looked good last year. A lot of posters are into revisionist history (It was CD! It was JVG!), but this smelly trade belongs on Morey's doorstep. Hopefully, he will learn from this and not make another monumentally stupid trade.

Wallace plays his best close to the basket. Centers tend to play close to the basket. If you take a slow player and force him away from the basket and ask him to close out on shooters it's a recipe for disaster. It's precisely why Yao always gets lit up by teams that play small and use a shooter at center.

Chuck is a very good defensive four. It's not about playing great perimeter defense. Even some of the best 3pt shooting big men only attempt 3-4 of those shots a game. It's the mid-range or 15-feet and beyond game that can kill you. Chuck is able to play those kind of players very well.

If I'm trading Mcgrady to the bulls Ide want their young big men Noah/Thomas and Hinrich and a 1st rounder and maybe Selfolosha.
Dont want ben Wallace. Dont want Ben gordon. And dont need Nociano. If were giving up alot in mcgrady we better trade for the future while still getting some immediate help. If paxson doesnt want to trade Deng you have to take their young players like thomas and noah. Make 'em mortgage the future plus it gives you more value to make trades later on to better fit your team. If we include Battier with mcgrady then we need them to give us nociano as well.
But this is all hypthetical and wont happen. i'de rather wait and move mcgraqdy next year if its his final year of the contract and he wants to leave.

Dude , I totally feel you on that

If you think about it 2 of our starters (shane and chucky) are still set up from the JVG system I think it time For RA to make it his system and start (Luis and Bonzi) and bring the other 2 off the bench for energy reasons and maybe we won't fall behind like we always do because lack of scoring when we start off games

What? Are you insane? That trade is horribly lopsided in our favor. It's completely impossible anyway, as you can't trade two first round picks in a row.

Also, Chicago wasn't willing to give up Deng for Kobe, what makes you think they'd do it for Kobe lite?

Some of these proposals are crazy. The most we could possibly get is Gordon/Nocioni. Maybe a second round pick.

It's truly funny to see all these Tracy lovers deny and discredit anything that mentions a T-mc trade or criticism. Tracy is not untouchable and where there's smoke there's fire. I guess you guys will be blind sided if a trade does go down. Do you think the Rockets brass will show their hand before they play it? I don't know when or where T-mc will go, but he will go. Maybe now maybe later but where ever he goes I hope he takes his Tracy only fans with him. They can stink up that cities blogs instead.

I just don't understand where this sentiment is coming from. Before this season started, we didn't hear a word of this. If you asked anyone, they likely would have told you that McGrady was the perfect complement to Yao's game. I sure would have and I have always felt that he knows how to get the big man the ball right where he wants it.

Fast forward to this year, a rough start, one Magic Johnson nationally televised comment later, and it's gospel that the two can't coexist on the court together. Huh?

They haven't gotten it done in the playoffs, sure. Players of their abilities should have closed out those two series' against Dallas and Utah, sure. But imagine for a second if they had had even one guy do anything on those teams in the playoffs. It's hard to play 2 on 5 - not even Kobe and Shaq were able to do it when Fisher, Fox, and Horry stopped connecting.

Any package on the bulls with deng included is good.

If we aren't getting any production from James anyways, I don't see how getting Deng + Hinrich + Wallace in return won't bolster our squad.

Although I can't speak for other posters, but if they feel as I do, then here is the response: T-Mc is not sacrosanct. However, if T-Mc is part of a trade, Morey is urged to make a sound trade with the future in mind.

I agree. The only teams I would trade T-mac to are the Mavs (Terry/Josh Howard), Bulls (Deng/Hinrich or Gordon plus other sweetners), Atlanta (Joe and Josh Smith or other pieces), or for Washington (Either or Butler/Jamison + Sweetners)

Wallace doesn't even need to be in on any deal for this to happen. Not that it necessarily will, but it wouldn't hurt if Morey or Adelman went public with, When are you fools gonna get it in your head? WE ARE NOT TRADING McGRADY. So far we've only heard very watered down versions of this.

I would absolutely think Adelman would have interest in Ben Gordon and in Nocioni. Nocioni because he's a 3/4 Euro and Gordon because he's a new maybe better version of Bobby Jackson. The Bulls have Gordon on a bit of a leash. Adelman would still give that leash a sharp tug every now and then, but would otherwise say, Just fill up the basket, kid.

Deng & Noci both has been somewhat inconsistent. Deng's got a nagging injury. IMO any trade with Chicago involving McGrady right now doesn't look good.

The only trades involving McGrady I wouldn't mind are with the Bucks and Pacers.

    Bucks:
    1)Redd + Sessions (non-guaranteed)
    for McGrady
    2)Bogut for James, Landry
*Bogut and salary dumping James are deal breakers.

    Pacers:
1)Dunleavy, Granger, Foster, Harrison for McGrady, Snyder, either Novak/Landry
    *Waive Harrison
