I'd say none of the above.

But if Chicago offered Deng + Hinrich (or maybe picks) I wouldn't be too upset about it. TMac's health is going to be a concern forever.

But they should still see how he and the team play when he comes back.

i think i'm losing my mind. this place is becoming unbearable. give this guy a freaking break and shut the hell up. we aren't trading tmac, he's an amazing talent. so many people here don't even think before they post and i'm beginning to get disappointed in the administration for not immediately locking these stupid threads.

Here's my vote (I totally made this up, but I think it makes sense, and the salaries match):

    T-Mac, Battier, Scola
    for
    David West, Stojakovic, Morris Peterson

Then our starting lineup would look like this:
    Rafer
    Peterson
    Peja
    West
    Yao

Why we do this: ALL THREE of those guys have made careers out of hitting outside shots and moving without the ball, which is EXACTLY what we need if we want to build around Yao. Plus, David West is a beast on the boards. As far as I'm concerned, he's our ideal answer at power forward. And we'd still have a strong bench: Brooks, Head, Bonzi, Chuck, Deke.

Their starting lineup would look like this:
    Paul
    McGrady
    Battier
    Scola
    Chandler

Why they do this: They're getting more talent in return, period. T-Mac is more talented than West. Battier isn't QUITE as good as Peja on offense, but he's way better on defense. And Scola is an up-and-comer who could give them more long-term than Peterson could.

Honest to god, I think this trade helps both teams. Not only that, but all players involved (ESPECIALLY T-Mac) would likely benefit from it. Can you imagine T-Mac together with Chris Paul?

    Dwyane Wade

With Dwyane Wade able to opt out of his contract after two more seasons, there is a concern that the losing, this precipitous decline from the 2006 NBA championship, could sour him on South Florida.

"We've got to do everything in our power to try to change it hopefully this season, and if not this season, then change next season," he said. "We don't want to go through this constant losing, like the last year and a half."

"I signed a three-year deal and I'm not worried about anything until my contract comes back around," he said. "So right now, my only objective is to make the Heat as good and as competitive as it can be. And when the time comes for us to renegotiate, we'll renegotiate." --

    From ESPN

This would be an AWESOME trade for both teams. T-Mac and Shaq are good friends and would like to play together (Dominant Bigman and the ability to get out of the first round in the weaker East for TMac) and Wade is the slashing 2 guard, not to mention with HEART, this team sorely needs. Both are around the same age, too.

Battier and Bonzi still at the three.

    Awesome lineup...

We don`t need to deal T-Mac. If he can find his way in this system and stay healthy for the playoffs, we got everything we need.

Now if we trade him, let`s try to stay a little realistic. A trade with Detroit is definetly not realistic, since they are doing really good this year, especially Prince.

Chicago would be realistic, although I doubt they would be willing to give up Luol Deng. It would probably include a package with Gordon and some minor role players (perhaps Sefalosha and Noah). I don`t even think they would through Hinrich in the mix.

A trade I`d like would be with the bobcats including Okafur and either Wallace or Richardson. But they are building their team right now, no need at all to trade away their young players.

So who would be willing to trade? I think our only option at getting back close to equal value would be Chicago. But then again, let`s see how T-Mac turns out now that the team is clicking. It might just be that he´s everything we need!

I refuse to be part of this trash talk. I am a Rockets fan and support our players, especially the ones we depend on to get the job done. :p

bloody hell Giddyup...I oughta slap yo motha for starting a thread like this ;).

The ONLY package that gives us something close to equal value is a package with the Clippers. Either Maggette or Brand, with Cat and Quentin Ross.

But I think it's r****ded to even consider shipping Tracy out right now. We're not far out of the thick of things right now...a couple more wins and we're back in the hunt. Why mess up the momentum? Why not give Coach A a chance with 2 superstars?

And Stephon Marbury's last good performance was in that "Trade it all" video with Jagged Edge and Diddy.

There was some rumor posted a couple of weeks ago. I went ahead and fleshed out all 10 poll choices...

I could have gone with Iguadola or Gasol or Okafor instead but you are free to freelance them into the discussion.

Some of you guys crack me up; you act like we are getting rid of your sainted mother. :D

This is the huge X factor, isn't it?

I say if someone will bite on a reasonable deal, let's do it. We've had success without Tracy. I like him okay. He's a remarkable but mercurial talent.

Same for me. If TMac were pulling a Pippen like attitude behind the scenes then that's a different story, but we have no concrete evidence of that.

Mac, Fancy, Principal Snyder for Cat, Brand, Livingston.
Rockets would have to use basically their current lineup plus Cat until Brand and Livingston come back. After that:
    Livingston/Alston/Brooks
    Mobley/Head/James
    Battier/Wells
    Brand/Hayes
    Yao/Scola

Peja Stojakovic s even softer than T-Mac. He's not much of a slasher, and gets injured just as much.

A package involving Michael Redd would be great.

Michael Redd + Charlie Villanueva for Tracy McGrady + Bonzi Wells

Milwaukee gets a chemistry change. C-Vill gets freed from the bench, and Redd doesn't mesh well in the backcourt with Williams. They get a better passer with T-Mac, and can keep running. Wells helps adds toughness to an otherwise extremely soft team.

Houston gains superb 3-point shooter and scorer in Redd, and a more stable All-star. Villanueva helps us at the 4, and is a good shooter. Redd should fit very well at the 2 between Alston and Battier

Why not trade Tracy for Joe johnson from Hawks, Joe is a better shooter and he can do a easy catch and shoot ,when he got the pass from Yao.He is younger and experienced. He knows the small ball very well, when he was in Sun.

Also,Hawks has a lot of young players, I think T-mac can be helpful to organize the team

As Rox fans(not just Yao's or any others') we should consider about more, its just 6-2, there are many reasons, no doubt Yao is good, but schedule is easy, other plays had high performance. last season, without Yao, TMAC was good, but Howard and Muto were increidable.

If we can get these players, i'd like to make the deal.
    Kobe, Kidd, C.Paul, D.williams, D.Howard, Wade, James
    But it won't happen anyway.

And now is the worst time to consider trade, we could not get the equal even close value of TMAC. So more patient plz.
