Well picture this, we get Marbury and then Clyde has to interview him for 10 minutes. Imagine the amazing and timeless quotes we could get from those golden 10 minutes.
Mcgrady for Marbury? That's a joke right. I'm not a Mcgrady lover or anything, but please! There's not anyone on the Knicks thats deserves to be in a Rockets Jersey. How about they just fire Thomas and hire JVG, at least they'll know how to play some "D"
Just caught this part: No ****, huh? The Knicks are interested in getting a superstar for a cancerous loser? I bet they're interested in obtaining Dwight Howard or Kobe Bryant for Marbury too, doesn't mean it's gonna happen.
This can't be true. It really cant. If it did, it would be a slap in T-Mac's face as well as the fans.
BREAKING NEWS: Trade discussions in the works with NY Knicks. A close source with the Rockets has stated there is a trade in the works to send Tracy McGrady to the Knicks for Marbury, a mule, a two head panda, with a partridge in a pear tree. Link www.Thisisbull****.com
I have followed the Rockets for years, and they have made some stupid trades, but that would top them all. That is an absolutely brain dead idea. Doesn't mean they won't do it.
I guarantee this rumor is true. Yesterday evening, when I was sitting on the toliet bowl in men's room in MSG, I overheard 2 men talking -one was Isaiah Thomas and the other was Daryl Morey. They agreed on a trade of T-Mac + Yao for Z-Bo + Starbury and it is going to come down on Friday.
With all due respect, setting aside what their actual contract status really is, your assumption that T-Mac is the one with the expiring contract means you actually think the Rockets value Stephon Marbury more than T-Mac from a basketball standpoint???! You're smarter than this, Almu.
i won't shoot the messenger, but that is the WORST of all the prospective trades. I wouldn't trade Alston for Marbury to be honest!!! Did you see what Rafer did to the knicks the last two games against them? marbury sucks, i tell you what, straight up: Francis back to the knicks for marbury.... that was a joke
We would be well under the cap summer of '09. Here's the obligatory FA class of 09: http://www.realgm.com/src_freeagents/2009/ Some UFA highlights: Allen Iverson Rasheed Wallace Baron Davis Elton Brand Corey Maggette Lamar Odom Jason Kidd Andre Miller Shawn Marion Ron Artest Mike Bibby Gilbert Arenas Those are some pretty big names who could fit pretty well on this team. With that said, in order for this to get done, I want multiple unprotected first rounders and I want them to take Mike James for there expirings. It would have to be Marbury, Fred Jones(expiring) and '09, '11, '13 unprotected first round picks (you can't trade first rounders 2 consecutive years, I think?) for T-Mac and James. It would be nice to get their picks starting with this year, but I'm not sure they can trade, because it's owed to Utah if it's higher than #23 (meaning 24-30). I'm sure it won't be, but I'm not sure they can trade it until that is a known fact. Even with that offer, which I feel is the best they could offer, I don't know if I would do it.
Can someone comeup with a thread with the "Why the Hell Did We Do or Not Do That" title. If we can pass up Rashard Lewis for 3 no name draftpicks. Or trade 3 picks for including Richard Jefferson for the Late "RIP" Griffin. We can do this deal. I'm all for it......not happening in this generation.
Cabbage, If we do this trade it's not because of a basketball standpoint, but because we are making the most of a bad situation. T-Mac isn't happy, and he knows that he needs to go --- and he wants to go. We gotta get something, and an expiring contract is better than nothing. Having 20 million to spend in one year is better than having 20 million to spend in two years. And if there is any truth to what Almu's heard, then don't be surprised if there's another team in the mix. Solid, If T-Mac leaves, it ain't gonna be because that's what the Rockets want to do.
Well, it is possible. The west is so tough this year we might not make the playoffs. So why not get Marbury and some good young talents (Lee, Robinson, or 1st round picks). And when next season comes, we have the expiring contract as blue chip to make an offer for Kobe or Arenas.
hhmmm I don't know. Starbury will have an expiring contract next year and that 1st round pick will be pretty high. *in deep thought about this*
