    Yeah,
So I saw the game , not the 20 boring minute cinemas. This is what it looks like.
For the Sony Walkman/PS3 fans here:

"Oh here comes the A-Team truck!"

"Must crawl on the floor so I can find my contact lenses"

    "I am Rambo!"

"Why is PS3 better? Cause Kenny Smith is commentating on this game!"

I can see the user created content for Little Big Planet being really exceptional. It seems like a really fun world to play around with and I can't imagine the user interface being terribly complicated. They say they'll organize all the entries into the most popular like the way they have the best wiiprofile avatar things. If the game is really good, it might be able to keep producing new user created levels for a year.

Tinman, have you or are you currently planing to break into an arcade and steal a street fighter game? You should.

Darth Vadar and Yoda will be playable characters in Soul Calibur 4. In the past, seeing characters from other games in SC turned me off but...THIS IS ****ING AWESOME.

Vadar will only be in the PS3 version and Yoda will only be in the 360 version so no Yoda, Vadar fights. :(

I'm not even that big of a Star Wars fan, but I love me some Soul Calibur and this is awesome news. I'd rather use Vader though, and I've got a 360 :(

Soul Calibur should've had a Blu-ray player fight an HD-DVD player.

    true,
you can buy the xbrs now. this is what the developers imagine you play the game for. a nice HDTV plus surround sound ( sound was coming from the Sony soundbar thing). they didn't spend millions of dollars to make the game so you can play it on a nonwidescreen, no surround sound, setup.

Was there a story/decent playability to MGS? I hope so.

The last couple have lost me due to:

a.) nonsensical/idiotic story line. maybe something is lost in translation.

    b.) crap controls/camera/playability

i don't really play that game, but it looked really good. lots of action, however its not like rambo style action that i like.

the graphics looked good. the framerate was good, though not quite silky.
    the sound was awesome.

there were tons of options , weapons, camouflage, etc.

however, the thing that i didn't like was that when you switch up your options, it stops the action. but i guess that's how these games are. i like just pressing something to switch weapons or do other things.

I wouldn't doubt it if they let 360/PS3 owners download Vader/Yoda. Of course, all for the low, low price of $9.99.

Guessing that if you didn't like the previous MGS games in terms of their story, MGS4 probably won't change your mind. I really loved them, and depending on how MGS4 wraps things up, I will probably like the MGS storyline more than any other game (of course, it has had 7+ games to develop this story). I will say that I usually had to playthrough the previous games a couple of times and read up on plot summaries (or interpretations) to really enjoy the storyline. I like this kind of thing, but I don't doubt that it keeps people from enjoying it. You also have to just accept some of the crazy stuff Kojima does with the characters, particularly the bosses (think of it like a Bond movie or something). FWIW, I'm guessing MGS4 will be even worse since I'd have to playthrough (or read about) the previous games again so I can remember certain things that will pop up in MGS4. They will allow you to "trigger" certain cinematics from previous games, but I don't know if this will be as comprehensive as I'd like it to be.

As far as controls/camera, I think they brought over a guy (or guys) to work specifically on "westernizing" these aspects of the game (IOW, making it better). I can't really say whether they've gotten past this issue since I've yet to play it, but it does seem like they made a few smart choices based on the few gameplay videos they've shown (EX: a lot of moves are now context sensitive, mapped to one button).

I think I lot of people like that style of gameplay, and have tried to play MGS4 that way judging from some of the videos. It is kind of frustrating for me to watch people playing the game like that, although it seems like they might be making it "easier" to play the game this way for those unfamiliar with the stealth-based gameplay used in previous MGS game. MGS is supposed to be all about stealth, not running out in the open with your guns blazing. Ideally, few (if any) of the enemies should even be aware of your presence, let alone be killed (MGS3 did a nice job of pointing this out IMO). I guess you can use MGO to satisfy you urge to be Rambo, although there are some stealth elements there as well.

This was one of the big complaints people had when they first showed off gameplay from this level ~6 months ago. If I'm not mistaken, I think you only do this when you're trying to change camouflage suits (and only for specific situations). I think if you want to change guns, items, grenades, etc., or if you want to use the OctoCamo, none of that would take you out of the action (all require 1-2 button taps or so IIRC). It would be better if you didn't have to go to the menu for this though. I think they gave a reason for why they couldn't do this, although I can't remember the reasoning at the moment.

I just remembered that you can mod you weapons (and other items?). That might require you accessing the menu as well. I didn't think they had that available in any of these builds though, but I'm probably wrong (haven't even read up on detailed impressions from the CES build).
