Watched this movie again last week after not seeing it in about 10 years. I forgot how utterly amazing this movie is. Great soundtrack too. Scariest gang: Spoiler Least scariest gang: Spoiler
I loved that movie when it was released. I remember when it finally made it to cable and The Movie Channel played it about 10 times a week. Awesome.
I think that second gang was called 'The Pettittes'.. But yeah, this was very much a fun movie all the way around. What's funny is, if you distill it, it's pretty much the same structure as a game, with different levels, different tilesets, and different zones with varying levels of difficult enemies to fight. And yet, if you had had a game like that (at that time) and then decided to try to make a movie out of the story, it would have inevitably sucked. But it's still a hoot.
Good "no one saw it in theaters" movie. Gets a little to much hype from its fanbase though. Some of the gangs are stupid. Evan
"Why'd ya do it?" "No reason... I just like doin' stuff like that!" The Warriors is pretty awesome. EDIT: The Warriors game for PS2 is really fun, actually. Check it out if playing through the Warriors sounds like a good time to you (and it should).
Actually, they were called The Boppers. I know, very intimidating... For the longest time, I thought that guy was David Schwimmer.
Definately one of my favorite movies. Hopefully someone like Tarrentino would do a re-make of this classic. God knows hollywood likes to re-make crap all the time, some work, but most don't. Un updated gang collection would be awesome. By the way if you like the Warriors and Wanderers, then check out the movie Aussie Park Boyz it's kind of over the top, but if you like action with no story line this movie is awesome http://www.r2-dvd.org/pics/grabs/aussiepark/apbcover.jpg
I was living in a small town back in the day when this came out. I remember being a little tense when watching it because the thought of gangs scared me.
Can you dig it? CAN you dig it? CAAAAN YOUUUU DIIG IIIIT!!! Tony Scott is supposed to be directing a remake, but they are moving the story to LA which is kind of lame.
One of the funniest lines from an actor I've ever read was from Michael Beck who was in The Warriors AND Xanadu. He said, "The Warriors opened a lot of doors for me which Xanadu promptly closed." LOL!

That line was totally improvised, BTW. The actor that said it said that when he was a kid, his neighbor used to taunt him by saying it just like that. He even used bottles like in the movie.
My father-in-law loves this movie. He also thinks that Mercy is the hottest chick ever. When he's drunk he goes on and on about how she's the perfect woman, etc, right in front of my mother-in-law, who stoically puts up with his bull****. Maybe tastes have drastically changed since the 70's, but I just don't see it. Scrawny chicks from the street with a hint of mustache just don't do it for me.
Great movie...I don't have it but watch it when it comes on TV...I bought the video game too, but have yet to play it...
