Great game by Rafer, Scola, and Yao. I still can't get over that driving dunk Yao had over Rose. That's the BIG man dominating. Just bring it every game now, and the haters will be silenced.
Scola was everywhere tonight, I hope he doesn't disappear like one of those people on a milk carton, once T-Mac comes back.
The refs had an outstanding game tonight, if we have this same crew every time we play....hmm I love to see the damages we will inflict on the rest of the league.
I know Scola have a great game but don't forget Hayes grab 13 boards in only 25 minutes. I love having this 2 guys in Houston uniform.
I thought T-Mac will not be ready to play for another 5 to 10 days according to Morey's 610 interview?
so is t-mac back friday for sure or what? Hope he doesn't mess up the growing chemistry. Got my fingers crossed.
I wish Scola could dunk. Other than that, good driver, we have to make them pay when they pay so much attention on Yao.
The great thing about Scola is not on his stats but the easier the game is for Yao when he is out there, Yao don´t need to force shots or to fight for position as much as with Hayes.
That and the fact that Scola needs to improve his FT%. But, after his great performance today, I don't want to nitpick too much.
head doesnt need to finish...hes a good penetrator and is a great shooter....thats exactly what we need from....we dont need him to finish
A few thoughts from the game... 1.) Great game from Yao... it's good to see him be dominant again. 2.) Rafer's play is very encouraging. I'm listening to his post game interview right now and basically he's saying T-mac better run the floor and fit in to the offense. I think as long as Rafer gets opportunities to DRIVE to the basket with t-mac back, we'll be fine. I really think Rafer loses a lot of effectiveness if he is relegated to being a stand-still shooter a la Van Gundy Days. 3.) I have a lot of confidence in Scola shooting that midrange jumper. What's impressive is that he doesn't have to be completely set when he shoots it. He can be on the run, receive the pass, and then stop and pull up right away without having to really waste time setting up and gathering himself. I think his defensive rebounding might be a little suspect, but I don't watch him closely enough to say that for sure. Only 3 rebounds for Scola in this game... As Don Chaney said, I think Scola is capable of scoring in double digits every game. We need to make sure that Scola gets more and more comfortable b/c he is a really big key when Yao starts getting fronted. We need him to hit that midrange jumper or at least be a threat to drive from the top of the key when Yao is getting doubled. 4.) Good job closing the Knicks out in the 4th Q and good job keeping our TO's down this game. 5.) I think either Rafer or Scola has the best chance of becoming our consistent 3rd scorer when McGrady gets back. But really, the last stretch of games have shown that anyone from Rafer/Scola/Wells/Brooks can step up and be that 3rd guy. Even Battier can be added to the list. Things are looking good, but I suspect there will be some growing pains for a few games upon T-mac's return. Let's hope they don't last long.
