Jorge, last week you were saying how much you welcomed an Obama victory. Why the sudden 180? You are proving less reliable than Political Futures Markets
I do detect a bit of sarcasim in Jorge. But Basso certainly has got to be happy since that now Obama isn't now the most "Dangerous" man in America.
He is still te most dangerous man, it's just that Hilary is now the most dangerous woman - it's called open mindedness!
Sam, you've just got to be devastated tonight. This could have been Obama's coronation ceremony tonight, instead we are looking at a dead heat race for the libs.
In the Northeast, that is hardly a shocker. Not to mention that with Obama being declared the winner yesterday, it may have brought out quite a few Hillary supporters who wouldn't have voted, otherwise. Hell, yesterday a Clinton strategist was saying that a single digit loss to Obama today would've been considered a victory, and that the Clinton campaign was all but dead. Were I a Hillary supporter, I would've gone out and voted, also.
ok, so i dont claim to know much about this stuff, but they are saying that hillary won and got 9 delegates, and obama lost, but he got 9 delegates too. what the heck is the big deal?
NH went to Kerry and to Clinton twice. It went to Bush in 2000 by a margin of 2%. Not what I would consider a Republican stronghold, especially in the past 20 years.
New Hampshire has an amazing number of Independents. That's a big swing vote. This electoral season, they're swinging Democratic. Impeach Bush.
In all the primaries, delegates are portioned out based on the voting %s. It's not a "winner take all" thing. These "wins" really don't mean anything except in terms of media and hype. Same with Iowa, except that Obama got a few more because he won 40-30. And for reference as to the scale of all this - you need 2000+ delegates to win. So both Obama and Clinton are now 0.45% closer. Also, Edwards is collecting delegates of his own - who he'll be able to mostly decide who they go to in the end, I think. So, for example, if Clinton and Obama end up at 1800 delegates and Edwards has 400, one of them could offer him the VP (or a cabinet spot or whatever) in exchange for his support.
