Yao is a bigger and better version of Rik Smits. If the Pacers could build a championship team with Smits then we surely can with Yao.

Yes and no. Yao has to play MUCH better than Smits because he is eating up alot more of the salary cap than Smits. Besides the Pacers didn't win a championship with Smits...

    too good to be true.

the problem is when tmac is on the court.. other than Yao, everybody think they're role players. they always think that tmac is ALWAYS THE FIRST OPTION. And tmac is not shy to shoot the ball.

    "我也觉得应该是麦蒂融入到这个体系里,等他回来,我们会努力帮助他融入进来。为了赢球,其实每个人都在牺牲自己比赛的一部分,恰恰是因为这种牺牲,我们才开始进入一种良性循环"

I think TMAC should be involved, when he comes back, we will work hard to incoorperate him. For the sake of wining, everyone needs to sacrifice his game a little, only through this kind of sacrfice we can start to create a wining environment.

thats how i would translate the only direct quote from Yao in that article when yao is talking about TMAC.

Also the title of that article in chinese is " Yao Ming: Everyone needs to make sacrifice, TMAC also needs to learn the system.

In my opinion I think Yao was talking more of the team rather then singling TMAC out.

One thing that I think Tmac needs to do when he comes back is passing ball more to Scola and Bonzi. I always believe the pick and roll between Tmac and Scola has a great potential! Tmac really should trust Scola more.

    Thanks bro.

If Pryuen cannot do the translation correctly, he should just stop doing it. He is actually doing us a disservice to mislead us with his poor translation.

Pryuen shouldn't be allowed to start new threads.

When TMAC comes back I would like to see the rockets run the same type of offense that they have been running for the past couple of games.
Pass the ball around initially let the other players besides Yao and TMAC to find a way to penetrate/open shot, then give the ball the Yao or TMAC, that way we can keep the defense on their feet and not be too predictable in our offense.

Well no he actually have been doing a very good job of translating, I just think his use of tone in those translations is confusing some of the people here.

Every Rockets fan needs to wake up and realize the reason why we always get complacent is because of Yao Ming 100% he will play well throughout the quarter and once he gets tired hes the worst player in the league. We never ever just blow teams out its because of Yao when he gets tired he will turn it over repeatedly and play terrible defense.

Just want you to know that Wang Meng is the guy who wrote an article on TMac's summer training entirely based on a youtube video. Instead of mentioning the source, he made it look like he was invited to TMac's house. I think that says a lot about his credibility.

Eastern Conference Champions only to be eliminated by non other than the Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls in 7 games. In my book that's good enough to be considered Championship calibur.

Bulls outlast Pacers in grueling Game 7

If that is talking more about the team then there's no reason to mention T-Mac now is there? Face it, Yao called out his teammate.

Were you banned recently? 4 posts and half of them are direct criticism of someone that most of the board appreciates?

Don't forget the actual Eastern vs Western conference championship games where the Pacers lost to the Lakers.

The 2000 NBA Playoffs was the postseason tournament of the National Basketball Association's 1999-2000 season. The tournament concluded with the Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers winning their first championship in twelve years by defeating the Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers four games to two.

I would hate to think people would hate change, especially when the offense from the last 4 seasons has proven to be the achilles heel of this team.

SOme of the greatest offenses in the history of sports took 4 to 6 years to build to maximum efficient and fulfill its entire potential.

Patriots and Colts great offenses didn't get good over night, it was from years of tinkering and putting the right players in the right position.

When the Suns were a sub .500 team or barely making the playoffs, they had great offensive players, but needed a player like Nash to take them to the next level.

Warriors have always had great shooters and scorers, but they needed a coach like Nelson to fine tune it and turn it into wins.

The Lakers and Bulls triangle offense didn't become great over night.

Realistically, this team for the past two season only had two scorers and almost zero reliable shooters.

It was time for a change.

Of course, as many fair-weather fans and impatient parties would expect, they would want the offense (Motion offense) to magically shoot to one of the best in the league, after being somewhat average with a number of new players.

It just doesn't work that way. You need time for things to develop and it's starting to right now, as evidence by the convincing wins of the Knicks and Magic. And the good game against the Celtics.

The offense comes with learning curve, it's just doesn't happened over night or over a season, sometimes.

Whocares if Yao called out T-Mac?

Didn't Oakley call out Carter a few seasons ago when they were with the Raptors?

Didn't the kicker for the Colts call out Dungy and Manning?

    Didn't T.O call out everyone?

Didn't Larry Brown call out Allen Iverson?

It happens, it's justify sometimes (in Oakley's and Brown's case) and other times it's absolutely insane and dumb (T.O. case).

If he is unwillingly to change his game for good of team, Yao could be averaging more points and touches....but he is not complaining like some stars would.

Well according to the article, Yao said this because both Bonzi and Alston said that the rockets should play this type of ball when TMAC comes back and TMAC should adjust to the new system.
SO is both Bonzi and Alston calling out TMAC also?

The title is misleading, but your effort is great.

I don't see t-mac having a problem meshing into the system when he's back. The chicago game proved it.
