Do you want to trade the Yao-haters too? If not, why?

    I don't buy it.

McGrady always seemed to love it here, and I see no reason why he would want out now that the team is actually picking it up without him for the first time ever.

This is complete BS in my opinion. Tmac has never been one to hide his feelings from the media. If he wanted a trade he would have said it.

Realistically, where could he go and be on a better team? Nowhere.

It's been a slow couple of weeks in the NBA with no players raping or starving their dogs or beating up on their wives. These writers are pretty much down to spreading gossip since most of them don't know enough about basketball to write actual basketball articles.

Are we going to have to send Rafer out to a club late at night again with a box cutter or a spork to give these guys new material?

Clemens, McGrady among highest paid in 2007

Houston Business Journal - by Greg Barr Reporter

Former Houston Astros pitcher Roger Clemens, who has tossed plenty of verbal curveballs in the past few days while trying to downplay his role in the ongoing baseball steroids scandal, was among the richest athletes in North America in 2007.

According to statistics compiled by the SportsBusiness Journal, an affiliated publication of the Houston Business Journal, Clemens' $19 million paid by the New York Yankees in a year when the pitcher spent just as much time nursing injuries as he did in uniform puts him at No. 10 on the list.

Another Houston athlete on the list who has enjoyed collecting much of his salary while sitting out due to various ailments this season is the Houston Rockets' Tracy McGrady.

McGrady's $16.9 million puts him at No. 17 on the list.

Topping the salary list are two boxers: Oscar De La Hoya ($53 million) and Floyd Mayweather Jr. ($50 million).

The salary figures do not include marketing endorsements.

    Rule #1 of Journalism:

    Protect your sources.

You know how Congress tried to force those Journalists covering the steroid era of baseball to reveal their sources, or they'd go to jail, and they chose jail? Now, they're still sitting in jail. Journalists don't expose sources for a reason. They should have taught you this in 7th grade.

    Never?

If the Rockets can stay at .500 without McGrady, then trade offers will be more fair. If the Rockets start loosing then they will get fleeced like the Raptors did with Vince.

If Houston stays afloat, that takes away from the whole desperation of needing to take whatever is given for T-Mac. But they want to trade McGrady when he still has value, before he becomes a Penny Hardaway or Grant Hill.

I agree with the analysts. Chicago is Houston's best bet. They are struggling (and are even more desperate than Houston). And they've got tons of young, talented and hardworking players.

If emulating the Lakers (Shaq-Kobe) with a star Center and Shooting guard didn't work. Maybe Houston should emulate San Antonio or Detroit, and create a cohesive, talented team around 1 star player (Yao).

Now, what are some fair trades that Houston can work out with Chicago? Keep in mind, T-Mac is probably worth less than you think (since home fans always overrate their own players worth). But Hinrich or Deng should definitely be apart of the deal.

Good post. But, IMO, it's just a wishful thinking that Chicago would even consider to give us Lou Deng.

That's not a good post. Why would Chicago trade for another wing player when they need an inside game more than life itself?

Some of you people just blabber off too much of the first can of trash that comes to your head.

Yeah, he did that once when he was in Magic and he may do it again in Houston.

I am kind of buying this since it appears to be the replay of his old magic time. Back then, Magic had a big streak of loss. Hill was injured. He was unhappy what the team was doing and then rumors came out. Later, he asked to be traded.

M Johnson said one of the DUO needed to be traded. I m sure he heard of that. Since the team is doing great with Yao and without him, whether his ego will jump out and depress him.

He must have enormous pressure facing the media and his teammates. I hope he could deal with that since he is not a rookie anymore. Be healthy, come back , fit into RA's system and clear out all the negative news about him.

But if the news were ture, apart from being a rockets fun and as a normal guy, I would really challendge his dignity!

I'd like to see Tyrus Thomas in any deal with Chicago if we don't end up with Deng.
