Mutombo helping T-Mac network with top government officials to promote his Darfur campaign. That's awesome.

yeah well from what I've seen so far, he doesn't go in before Brooks. He's like the equivalent of Gary Payton on the Miami Heat the last two years. A veteran backup guard.

Man, I'm really hoping he gets a chance to play and contribute. He's on the bench cheering for the team, that shows real heart.

Like I said previously, 10 min of PT is not too much. Just cut some from any SG and he'll have the 10 min.

Seeing how Adelman has changed the rotation 14 times already...Francis should be up to bat at some time during the season. Francis did play well for 2 games...I wonder if it was his tendinitis that limited him the last few games before he finally went out. We couls still use his scoring and going to the rim....the good thing is we have guards with different skill sets that we can use. Francis is more of physical guard that goes to the rim, gets fouled and gets rebound. Brooks goes to the rim, but relies more on speed. When everyone's back healthy, maybe we'll finally get this vaunted "depth" that everyone was saying the Rockets would have at the beginning of the season.

Just because his tendentious is getting better doesn’t mean he can train and practice at an NBA level to compete in an NBA game. Considering his age and what his knee has been through, I would be surprised if he arrives in good shape.

Here is the scenario: Rick Adelman will put him in a game, realize he is slow, and place him on the bench. Francis will then train harder which will aggravate his knee. It’s a vicious cycle. Francis has been fighting with the Francis since last year. I would be surprised if two weeks rest is going to help.

Francis? why does that name sound so familiar? .....OH WAIT you mean the guy we traded T-Mac for. hows that guy doing now? :D

seriously Brooks has taken all steve and mike's minutes. it'll be a miracle if Adelman still has confidence in Steve.

FRANCIS CAN STILL PLAY...BUT ITS OBVIOUS AARON B HAS STOLE ALL HIS MINUTES....BUT SURELY LUTHER,T-MAC,ALSTON OR AARON BROOKS WILL GET INJURED SOONER OR LATER WHICH WILL ALLOW STEVE FRANCIS TO PLAY THE MINUTES HE WANTS....

    oops caps lock...sorry guys..hehe

hope u arent hoping for someone to get injured for francis to play. francis has been the least impressive player on the rockets. the two games he started we conveniently had our two worst games of the season. theres no way in hell he's getting brooks or bonzi's minutes. the guy's done. ship him out and hope a team is naive enough to trade for him. :D

Agreed. Before Francis hurt his tail bone in that GSW game, he was playing pretty good. Also, I think a Mike James and Head package for a trade can land us a solid role player or even a mid-late 1st rounder.

Francis doesn't have the shooting to replace Luther. Adelman's been replacing Luther with Brooks b/c Brooks can shoot it well. This'll be Francis' last hope of any playing time when he comes back so he better tear it up if he wants minutes. I can't see him cutting into Alston or Brooks' minutes though. These guys are set in stone as far as playing time.

Brooks will make Francis look good running the break. Francis can finish, which is something Luther cannot do.

Francis may get another shot or be traded, I think the rotation is fine the way it is now.

Brooks adds more to the 2nd unit than Steve....and Steve was awful as a starter.

If he wants to go, trade him.

I think not. Let me explain this to you and others who keep thinking we can trade James and Snyder for Caron Butler... Nobody wants our trash! And will only give us trash back for our trash! James is a borderline player with a large contract. James=Juwan and that was before he proved he couldn't beat out Rafer and is no bench fodder! Head on the other hand is a one dimensional player who can shoot. Shooting is always a marketable commodity so Luther still has some trade value. But don't expect us to get anything better than him in return. Adding James to the pot only diminishes Luther's Value.

We actually need another shooter that is a little more athletic and with better handles than Head. That is a tough thing to find in this league and if someone has it will want more than head for their return. Azubuike would be a decent sg to trade for. Didn't we throw that guy away last year.
