I think it'll get canceled soon too, because it does feels like the old show. It just doesn't feel like there's a place for this show in 2008.
There is so much unintentional comedy in this. I think you could come up with a very enjoyable drinking game and have a lot of fun watching this show. Take a shot every time Wolf howls. LOL.
What's killing me is that World Series of Poker style play-by-play from Van Earl Wright...... You can clearly tell it's just dubbed over in a studio. No true emotion, feeling or any flow with the action on screen. The play-by-play on the old series was what helped make it great. You also had the interaction of the two hosts which helped fuel the action. Hulk and Ali's roles in this show as bad interviewers and 'sideline reporters' are almost unnecessary. I think the events are great and they live up to the old show.
Yeah...or at least they'd introduce the event then go to commercial...you know that's rule #1 in reality shows these days; cut away right before the "climax" to add to the suspense. The show would be leagues better if they cut out the moronic, forced, cheesy interviews. It's nice that they've made the challenges a little bit more demanding, but they could go further. Hulk says "brother" to much...I know it's one of your "trademarks" but you don't have to say it every other word.
I watched this show with two of my friends and halfway through the first show we were all shouting and screaming at the contestants like old times. We all enjoyed it a lot and sat through the entire two hours. I thought it was great and think it will be a success.
