Maybe it was destiny that we brought in Adelman who had been watching Brooks play at Oregon during his season away from coaching.

I don't think we would have drafted Brooks if JVG was still here or we hired a different coach.

I don't believe in destiny but it may certainly prove to be a fortunate course of events if Brooks becomes the real deal.

You have a point about his health, but that will always be a concern, and that plus his salary make him very hard to move.

This team is looking a lot better of late, and should continue to improve. I can't say how well we'll do or how good we'll be, but I do know that without Tmac we're not going to advance to the second round. If you trade him for someone "solid and reliable" it won't be at a slightly less value, it would have to be at a significant lesser value.

For now, I'll take my chances with T-mac.

    I believe it's 4-4 now.

More interestingly, how many good teams have we beaten without T-mac? Orlando by a hair is the only one I can think of.

Losses include Boston, L.A. and Golden State.

Games where McGrady was a DNP, including tonight: 3-5

Since McGrady has been a Rocket, I think our overall record without him is somewhere around 14-47.

I watched the game. The way he played suggested that he quited starting from the 3rd quarter, as he stopped playing hard, stopped running hard.

Yao was on court through the (majority part) of the 4th quarter, so I don't think it is JVG that decided to quit.

27 points. Do you remember that in their champaignship years, Bulls once was down by 25pts (hope I remember it right), and they fought hard and came back in the game and finally won the series. It was against Blazers (Drexler in the team, I think).

Lakers were down 15 pts in game 7 4th quarter against Blazers in West Conf final with about 5-8 minutes left, they played hard and came back won the game and hence the series.

So it doesn't mean you didn't have a chance when entering 4th quarter down by 27 pts.

Most of the time i didn't see scola appear in the 4th quarter. I just don't understand why? He can shoot, He can defence, He can pass, He can run. He have low post scoring ability. Why is he not in the 4th quarter. If we watch back the previous lossing game. If he appear in the 4th quarter, I think the result will be defferent.

Everyone know he can execute the play, but why is adelman keep on putting him on the bench?

    Why???

We already won at least 4 games without T-Mac, starting from the game vs. Grizzlies on 12/28.

I don't remember games before that.

This is the better part about Adelman: He is willing to experiment different things: let rookie play, give them a little chance and see how they do.
    Try different things offensively.

I still remembe a few days ago in a game, Novak hit a 3ptr and it looked very much like a designed play. JVG probably won't design something for a unproven player.

A lot of fans think that Scola needs more time on the court. Anyone knows the reason why RA keeps the diamond on the bench?

Conley and Crittendon have barely played this season. Brooks has played more than Crittendon.

Conley is overrated. I'll put money down that Brooks is better than him.

I don't know enough about Crittendon's game but he looked pretty good when I saw him play. He has good size for a PG but I don't know if he is better than Brooks.

I can name at least 3 reasons...

    1. Lack of NBA experience.
    2. Foul trouble. This is related to the first reason.
    3. The Rockets won 52 games last season and Hayes was a regular starter. Adelman also respects JVG and the success this team had under him. He has only been coach of this team for less than a half season and doesn't want to make too many drastic changes too quickly. He knows Hayes has serious weaknesses and will eventually get him out of the starting lineup. He already knows that Scola is his best PF but, as is the case with Brooks, he wants to develop him slowly. Scola is already averaging nearly the same MPG as Hayes coming off the bench and will eventually be our starting PF.

I bed to differ, in NBA, there is NO gimme game, the best team falls to the worst team on nightly basis. Rockets had lost games that could've been won.

    EVERY GAME COUNTS

I say give the big stiff 25 shots a game... for a season... and in the playoffs... and see how we do...
