I think Deke should play more. He definitely shifted the momentum for us in the first quarter. It is also a good sign that RA is beginning to let Scola post up. He is a strong guy that should post more.

I just wish he made that outside shot in the first quarter, that would've been where amazing happens!

i agree. especially during the night when randolph took 22 rebounds against yao and hayes. Deke definetely can help.

Deke is used in match up situations. With the Knicks having a tall and stacked front court in Curry and Randolph he could be effective. Against a front court like Amare and Marion.. not so much.

Adelman is using him the right way.

I think RA perhaps should have considered using DM more in the 2nd half to give Yao more of a blow. Yao did fine, but with additional rest he could have licked the Knicks even more.

That's possible, but Yao was doing so well. Plus he stayed out of foul trouble. I think if he had gotten his third foul earlier, we would have seen deke in the end of the third. Instead we went small to give Yao a break and it worked alright.

I wasn't aware that Daryl Morey was playing for the Rockets.

Deke is getting pretty old. You want to use him as little as possible. We will need him just in case Yao gets hurt, and is out for a length time.

He definitely should be playing more minutes!!!
I'm getting sooo mad becasue he can still play and doesnt get the minutes he deserves!!
One of the reason why we began a 6-1 start was becasue Mutombo played some good minutes!!!
    Damn you Adelman!!!

What about the percentage of victory when Deke had play in that game?
    Anyone know the answer?

Deke probably had a personal vengeance towards Isiah Thomas. Thomas couldn't get rid of him fast enough when Deke was a Knick. Thomas even ripped Mutombo's one defensive strength i.e. "Shot blocking is one of those stats that's kind of overrated." comment..

Agree completely. What Deke brings with respect to guarding the rim is very valuable and he's still great at it.

Deke, against the right opponents is a game shifter. A block from Deke does so much for everyone, hypes up the crowd, energizes our guys, demoralizes the other team and will frequently lead to an open break.

Deke, should definitely play more. The man deserves it.

Deke should have retired, and we should have kept Mike Harris.

I love the guy, and he may have an occasional game where he plays well, but in reality they wasted a rosters spot on him.

Having Deke and Chuck playing together is bad offense, especially with Tmac out. Deke can't even catch a basketball unless it clanks the rim first.
At least he didn't get an immediate defensive 3 second penalty last night when he came in.
I like Deke, but he shouldn't play very much unless Yao is in foul trouble, and the matchups would have to be ideal.

In the next Knicks game, I'd like to see Deke and Yao together for about 6 minutes.
