You aren't happy when he doesn't score and then some of you B!tch and moan when he scores 20 pts and shoots 45% from the field, not to mention handing out 10 assissts..... before Stevie Franchise, this team would have given the keys to the city for a PG that could do that....... there are plenty of things to B!tch about in tonights game, let Bryce Drew have his glory, he played a great game and deserves some praise WAY TO GO BRYCE DREW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alot of things I saw wrong in his game.. Missed layups, bad man to man defense. It was a average night... j/k He played a nice game but his defense was not good.
But Drew *doesnt* play well off the bench. When he's started, his numbers have been sufficient... certainly better than the Lakers PG's. I like Drew, but I think we *have* to trade him. He simply isn't a good bench player, and has too much talent to waste away on the pine. Remember, he's only started like 5 games... he'll get better.
Drew is still a developing role and immediate future looks good. Cato needs to be relied on. The roster& rotation keeps on turnin' ------------------ We would like to get rookie Francis on the break for some easy scoops in the first quarter...
I will never cheer for Bryce Drew. I will never express to him in any form or fashion that he ever has done anything halfway decent. I will never do anything to boost his confidence as that would only encourage him to shoot more. That is all. ------------------ Jen Senior Lobbyist of the Movement to Trade Bryce Drew
Bryce Drew played great, but theres a big diffrence team wise between his numbers and Francis's. Teams double and triple team Francis, while when Drew's out there they just play everybody straight up. It's much more predictable with Drew playing. He deserves more minutes on another team though.
20 and 10?!? This guy is horrible!! Anything less than a triple double is pathetic!! He doesnt even deserve to carry Matt Bullard's luggage! Cut HIM! [This message has been edited by thacabbage (edited February 05, 2000).]
What is everyones problem with bryce? Bryce to me is the ideal backup PG. He can come in hit the 3, hit the floater, pass well, and bring instant energy when steve is having an off night. He gives 100% effort every night, he couldve not played hard last night but he did anyways. and when he starts he puts up excellent #s for any PG. Jenna What the hell is your problem with Bryce Drew? at least he doesnt knee people in the groin or elbow people like another one of your favorite players. Speaking of the jazz nice effort vs. LA what 113-67? ------------------ --TEX
Bryce Booster use to throw it in everyones face that he was 3-0 as a started and compared it to Steve and Mobley No matter what the numbers were . . . No he is 0-2 and a cool 3-2 Folx Throwing it back in the booster's Faces I like Drew. . . Their is too much Bryce Bashing but then again maybe a lil over the top Bryce praising He is good. Mobley is good Francis is FAN TAstic In and Ideal world they would all stay with us for a long time. But bryce is the Tweener in that IMO!!!! he is not good enough to start everynight. . . but not bad enough to be a bench player for ever. We'll have to wait and see. Rocket River
Right on Texasalsa, The main point about Drew is he is showing he can run the new plays. The success of Drew is highly indicative of the success of our new guard-oriented offense. The Rocket's PG position is now designed to run over 50% of the plays. It is no surprise to me the Drew got many good looks, and subsequently many points. While I don't want to downplay the ability of Drew to nail an open shot, or his Hornaceck-esque floater in the lane, Rudy has a system now that features the PG...and that position will score points. To me, Drew's performance validates the effectiveness of Rudy's new offense and his coaching ability to have a back-up ready to take up the point. This also points out the increased need we have for Drew. Not only is our starting PG our best player, but the PG position is our most important role. Without an adequate back-up who knows how to run all the plays, we jeopardize our offensive flow whenever the starter must sit. Personally, I do not believe Mobley is that back-up (he has his own role), Drew is that back-up. Sure, we could trade Drew, but can we allow a revolving door at backup for the quarterback? I wouldn't.
"I will never cheer for Bryce Drew. I will never express to him in any form or fashion that he ever has done anything halfway decent." Well, thats a great attitude Jenna. I never would have expected that coming from you. So the guy takes some not-so-wise shots. I guess you really hate Cuttino Mobley then cause he LOVES to jack up the ball. ------------------ The key for the Rockets is a winning attitude and mentality which can only be had by winning basketball games.
Well bryce doesnt meet the requirements of being a rogaine sponsor and be a WWF star on the basketball lol
LOL, Jenna.. R-Pimp, what is it with the ill-advised jack-ups.. Are they both(Drew/Cat) running on a different game clock? I still find it hard to cheer for him. If he had better shot selection I would be off of his case. Gets Norris the ball while The Dunkmaster is out.
