Uh, he has not been hitting layups on the post all year......mayhaps it is just that people are overating his post up abilities...especially when he is not guarded by a smaller player. DD
lol but it was pretty funny wen he missed the open layup but cleaned it up and bill was like he's getting more stats on the board
i didnt see anyone getting to the freethrow line as consistent as he was yesterday in boston and other games this year...it was a back to back...and he didnt give up on the game with the injury
You are missing my point, it isn't...."Sit" Bonzi, it is "Stop posting him up"...... In Boston he was NOT posting up he was attacking the rim, I LIKE that part of his game...a lot... It is the post ups that he stinks at against bigger players. DD
bonzi is a saint and has always consistantly produced ! post up is one of his strengths, but he has been slacking lately. He moves very well without the ball and fines the open spot on the floor.
I started a thread saying don't ever pass to Battier or Hayes. Guess I can similarly not make sense and say Bonzi shouldnt post up. He's really become Butter Finger Wells (pun intended) of late. Like his depth perception got weakened or something. He can't hold the ball in the post nor pass it cleanly
I don't understand why anyone would want to start Luther or Battier over Bonzi. Bonzi is a beast, even with all the layups that he misses. Those are just a fluke this year so far, and as soon he gets consistent starter minutes....oh wait...that will never happen, RA is our coach. Okay, but I think if Bonzi started and played 35 minutes a game consistently, he would post double double consistently. You can't replace that. Also, by not starting him, we are promising ourselves not to sign him for next year. He will go to a team that wants to start him. I would rather start him and Tmac than Shane and Tmac any day. Bonzi's defense is not like Shane's, but better than most people realize. He has quick hands and gets as many turnovers from that as Shane does from charges that he draws.
If Bonzi wanna post up, he needs Iso and to learn how to use his big butt. He needs lessons from another shorty Charles Barkley.
Offense: Pts per 100 possessions when player is ON court v. He's an automatic mismatch. If he stopped posting up as much that would essentially be negating that advantage. Sure, he needs to perhaps be more selective and not force things. He seems to have a tendency to try to do too much and gets himself stuck in some nasty predicaments like driving right at guys twice his size, getting sandwiched between multiple players or getting stuck underneath the basket. Things that like happen when you're an aggressive player though. Anything beats the stand around and shoot jumpers approach.
I had no idea Bonzi posted on this bbs. What is his screen name and why do you want him to stop posting?
Maybe you forgot about these stats: Player G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF TOT APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG Bonzi Wells 32 4 24.2 .414 .214 .649 1.70 4.20 5.90 1.5 1.16 .56 1.69 2.40 10.4 Shane Battier 33 33 35.2 .405 .385 .697 1.50 3.30 4.80 1.5 1.03 1.03 1.21 3.00 8.5 I would like to see what Bonzi can do with Shane's minutes with the starting lineup.
DD for some reason rather you never juped on the Bonzi bandwagon, I am not sure why, but for $2 mill I think the guy is giving the ROX the best production this year. When he is on he plays very well and when he is not he sits on the bench quitely and does not complaint about play time. He is the only aggressive player on the team that take the ball hard to the rack and forces foul troubles for opposing teams.
Egypt.....it is not that I want him gone, or out of the rotation, rather I want him used where he is most effective. And that is NOT on the low block, the only time he is effective there is when a team tries to guard him with a SG, and none of them are doing that anymore, especially since we don't have bigger players at the 3 other positions (SF, PF, C) to force the opponent to guard him with a small...and therefore he has struggled MIGHTILY in the post up game. Honestly, he has not been effective at all on the low block, he rarely passes from there, and has not been finishing......it stagnates the offense. Now, when Bonzi is playing off the ball and is a cutter, he is a monster with dunks and put back etc..... So....play him OFF the ball...do not post him up, it is not working. This made me laugh....but, He may in fact be JVG !!! DD
ok then who else do you want to post up? yao the whole game? we have to be able to post others and with tmac out that leaves bonzi as our only option.....rafer doesnt play 48 min and penetrate 48 min... need to mix up the posting and bonzi is the most suitable with his ability to get to the free throw line....we did play the third best team in the east on their court and pulled out a victory with bonzi not being as effective as he was in boston...
