In response to the threads that came out after the Boston game, I would like to point out that Yao overwhelmingly outplayed Dwight Howard. The same Dwight Howard that has been called the best big man in the NBA. The same Dwight Howard who normally dunks everything and grabs every rebound. Yao outclassed him tonight. More points, more rebounds, more big plays in the fourth quarter, and a much bigger impact on the game. So for everyone who bashed Yao for his one game performance against Kevin Garnett, please chime in about his one game performance against Dwight Howard.
Yao played great. When he shoots 10-18 for 26 points he earns his praise. When he shoots 7-20 for 19 points he earns criticism. It may not be fair, but franchise players are expected to play great every night. So unless it is a career record breaking night or a playoff game win your always going to see more threads when Yao under performs than when he has a good game.
IMO, Yao had a good rest in the 3rd quarter so he could play well in the 4th quarter. 40min is too long for Yao to play. That is the reason why he is often exhausted in last quarter. How to make good use of Yao is the keypoint to Rockets.
'um, I don't know if Yao really outplayed Howard, I think the ROCKETS outplayed the MAGIC. As for Yao and Howard, they got about equal playing time and had about as much influence. All in all, this was a win for the role players, the scrubs and the backups, not Yao, not Howard. YOF come and take a perfectly good win and bastardize it. And, the Rockets seemed to roll better when Yao was on the bench and the Rockets were actually able to run Adelman's famed Princeton offense. Who knows right?
If you can read (which is really doubtful), the OP took a jab at the morons who crawl out from their holes to bash Yao after every Rockets loss. Is it a coincidence that all these fools would hide in their hole every time after the Rockets wins and then they only have the urge and excitement to post after a loss? It doesn't take a genius to be able to see that. You should start using your brain before you give your observation next time. An calling people who defend our own Rocket player against unfair bashing YOFs just shows how pathetic you are.
Why can't it be both? The Rockets outplayed the Magic. Yao also outplayed Howard, and there really shouldn't be any doubt about that. Praise for Yao isn't always at the expense of his teammates. In fact, Yao's the kind of player that can't play very well unless his teammates do certain things right.
I said Yao outplayed Howard, but I am not a YOF and what does it even mean to "bastardize" a win? Did I kill its father or something? You conveniently disregard that Howard is averaging like 13 points over 8 games against Yao. I know: "It wasn't Yao, it was the the team" right? Now go on and say "It's not Rafer, it's the team. It's not T-Mac, it's the team. It's not Bonzi, it's the team," and so on. Sorry to ruffle your feather by saying our 26-10 guy outplayed their 16-8 guy. Obviously he was only equal or inferior to Howard (in your eyes).
These fools will start barking, hating and b****ing again if we lose tonight or Yao has a sub-par game. I said it first here. Prove me wrong, rofflesarusholz.
roffle here. yao outplayed dwight. i'll admit that. dwight's still very raw and has a limited offensive arsenal. however, we were playing better when yao wasn't in the game anyways. yao can keep us in games, but we cant ever take a commanding lead with him. if we want to win a championship we need yao to be a role player (a very important one) but not the focal point of the offense.
Hey rofflesaursholz, why do you start making somewhat sensible posts all in a sudden? Must be feeling the heat, huh? Perhaps too many people have been calling you a moron lately? ROFL. You have pretended to talk like a Rockets fan before. Now you are pretending to talk less like a Yao hater. What's the next project on your list to deceive? You are just a coward who backpedals when feeling the heat. Anyone who read your past posts in this forum can see that you are changing your stance now having been called out by too many people. You can backpedal and lie but you can't hide from what you have said before. Face it.
Seriously man, chill. You need abger management. I'm not bashing Yao its just all those who hate the Yao bashing get all upset and say its the role players faults we lost. Now the scrubs get a win and people want to take it away from them. That's messed up. Maybe you should learn to read understand what I AM SAYING. And, bashing Yao is fair and deserved because he is the head figure of the team. Yes, Howard was limitted but how much of it was Yao's killer defense and how much was it foul trouble? Who drew those fouls? Did any of their role players show? It's easy to desaturate a situation and make it black and white, but it doesn't mean it's right.
So true. I like Yao, i really do. My question is why did the rockets look shqrper with him off the floor?
Wow wow wow, I thought you just had problem to read but now it seems to me you are actually making up stuffs for your own argument. Who have tried to take anything away from the role players? I respect what the role players have done as much as anyone else. But are you saying that Yao has not contributed anything to lat night's win? Guys are just talking about Yao's contribution to the win there? What's your problem with it? Did anyone say it was all Yao who has singlehandedly won last night's game? Like I have pointed out, the OP is taking a jab at the morons who crawled out from their hole to b**** and bash our Rocket player every time after a loss but they would hide in their closet after we had a good game. Isn't it easy to see or are you just blind? If these fools had the urge to bash our player after a poor game, they should also be man enough to give our player props after a good game. Taking a one-sided stance is just hating. Have I laid it out clear enough for you now. Once again, you are pathetic to use a label like YOF on fans who defended our own player.
i for one didn't see that. i think what you say there is as idiotic as the ones who said the team looked sharper when Tmac was out. this team will go nowhere without either Yao or Tmac. whoever can't see that needs a brain scan.
