Whatever. It's just another excuse. First it's the influx of new players, then it's the system, now it's we miss the world's most intelligent player Rafer Alston. Next week it'll probably be McGrady has a cold. More mediocrity, more damage control.

Talk about mental toughness this year. The rockets gave every indication they wanted him gone during the offseason and he comes in and keeps his starting job over his two supposed replacements, who aren't even in the rotation.

I love how, on the last play, he didn't settle for a jumper, recognized that he had Chewbacca (sp?) on him, and took the ball to the rack. Heads up play.

Great job, Rafer! Good win for team smallball. Rafer and Brooks together are killer.

Matt Guokas (former Magic coach) was pretty impressed with Rafer on the broadcast.

Rafer is stepping it up a bit, BUT..... there is something wrong when Rafer Alston has the most shot attempts. The Rockets will not win many games like that, if any.

    Giving Rafer his due.

I admit I haven't been watching the games so I'm not sure how he looks, but he's double digits in scoring AND good scoring percentage for the past 5 games. Props to the man for stepping it up with TMac out.

He is much better without Tmac dominating the ball, more aggressive and it seems to really help his game.

We have to find a way to bottle this and then add in Tmac to really take off.

I don't care who take the most shots as long as those are good shots. Most of Rafer's shots are good when his finger rolls are going in. He doesn't take contested shots.

Late with the thread, and with your realization of Rafer's greatness.

    Uhh...he shot 50% overall and 75% from 3 along with 8 assists.

    Nothing wrong with that.

Plus, Yao had 18 shots while he had 14.
