Here's a Milwaukee sports radio segment with a Vescey rumor that's been posted in the random mid-season trade thread. I figure it is applicable here as well. The trade is Redd/Charlie V/1st rounder for T-Mac/Bonzi. I don't think it's deserving of it's own thread as it is a Vescey rumor, but it's still interesting to think about. http://wssp.radiotown.com/audio/sparky/010308_SparkyTradeRumors.mp3 It starts at about 2:30.
Whoaaaaa. Is that 1st rounder their 2008 unprotected pick? If so that's a possible top five pick. Interesting..... Peter Vescey though....
I'm doubting that there would be one manager there who wants a player like this, 20,000,000 dollars/year and sitting on the bench for no reason.
That list is a list of untradables. It's not realistic. Let's say for the sake of discussion, we have a realistic trade here : Mike Bibby Ron Artest Assuming the Maloof forget and forgive their grudges with Adelman. Mike Bibby and Ron Artest are on the block for awhile and still are. Do you do this trade?
there is a part of me that wants to trade t-mac and another part that doesn't. to be realistic, it must depend on the deal, above all else.
i would seriously consider this deal. HOWEVER, giving up bonzi in the deal makes me hesitate since i think bonzi would REALLY pay off in the playoffs.
Too bad Vesceys a moron and the salaries don't even matchup. Pathetic as usual. Not to mention I wouldn't want to be playing Redd 15+ mil for the next 4 seasons. Even T-Brokeback >>>>>>> Redd. For those of you who disagree, Redd is doing quite a fine job of leading his team to the playoffs in the leastern conference. BTW I would love to see what Redd and Charlie V could do with Yao out with last years team. Some of you guys need to start using that thing in your head that we call a brain.
I say trade him so we can get rid of TMOF's... they are even worse than the YOF's atleast yof's are just stupid... tmof's think were stupid enough to believe thier Cr@@p
Not that I think there's a chance this trade would actually go down but the salaries do indeed match. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...=532~901~692~2792&teams=15~15~10~10&te=&cash=
i'm in favor of trading, because i feel myself becoming a t-mac hater gradually, ,though i love him very much before
I choose Not Trade him. Hope he will know our expectation and lead the team. I belive Yao don't care who is the leader and who's team is. Yao always glad to screen for him and others. but Tmac not trust yao that much, he just do P and no R. 1. Tmac should do something like R. allen, run more to get the ball and shoot. 2. Hits some end q last shots for us. I did not see this for a long time always brick. 3. Make FT over 80%. 4. Make your 3s over 40%. 5. Fight to end, no more Mavs 7th game and other games when we no hope to win and then you are "injuried" and left. 6. Run, Run, Run on D Let us fans don't disappoint.
Without a doubt, we will never get full trade value for TMAC. We would get full value for Yao however, because he is a business cash cow for any NBA owner. If you really want to make a move--consider trading Yao, but that will never happen any time soon. He is too much of a cash cow for Les. With Yao, yes he is good and a top 10-20 player, but he is not a mental gamer night and night out and neither is TMAC. TMAC and Yao are fun to watch, but neither can mentally lead a team night in and night out on their own and we are expecting this because they make the lionshare of the cash. They will always score points and be atop the stat sheet, but that is only 60% of the formula. The other parts are that finishing and grinding approach and the "foot on the throat" play you expect from $10-15 million+ players. Neither has this every night. Now, Kobe and Duncan have this! That being said, there are only a handful of players ever in the NBA that have the night in and night out mental toughness mentioned above. Of current players, Garnett is not one of them either. However, take three accomplished, Top 10-20 players and put them on one team and you will have a lot of wins--Boston Celtics. But, alone, Paul Pierce and Garnett could not get their teams to any type of dominant place. The only active players with this mental edge are Duncan and Kobe really. We need to look at the SA and Detroit formulas for winning formulas: when you surround Top 10 players with dominant role playing gamers, that is when you can win. Rafer, Battier, Francis, James, etc. are not = to role players on either SA or Detroit. So, you cannot get full value for TMAC, but his injuries are killing us. Yao is a cash cow off the court for Les. So, the best we can do is acquire top 10 role players. Instead of putting a list together of Top 10 players, let's list who are the Top 10 role players in the NBA and what is would take to get one. Imagine for a second, a strong outside shooter, like Miller or even a player like Bibby on this team....we have to think about trading our future first rounder and a couple of players for either of these players. This is the only deal to be had that would make sense...surround Yao and TMAC with the best role players out there now and this team will compete.
You almost have to trade him to get anything back for him because as time goes by his value will go down as well. The way we have been playing without him shows that we are more than capable to compete if we get something in return i.e. jkidd and r.jefferson and a pick. If you say that you cannot get equal value for him I wouldn't agree because you can only say that for players like kg, kobe, duncan etc. Im not saying that tmac is not a good player but at this point in his career I think it is possible to get something in close equal value for him because I dont consider him to be an elite player in this league any longer. He is a special talent but he doesn't have the heart and desire to win that other players in this league have.
Possibly but that is because of fit on the team. For instance, I would probably seriously consider trading Tmac for Jamison..... I just think he is a skilled hustle player....and that is something that permeates the team... DD
Actually, the numbers do work though the Bucks would take in a bit more salary. That's just more incentive for Les as I believe it would take him below the LT line.
I don't know that Tmac's value is as low as some people speculate. Usually when a team gets pennies on the dollar for a star player it is because that star is forcing a trade. It isn't like we are in a position where we HAVE to trade Tmac though. He isn't forcing a trade, and so far as we know he has not been a negative presence in the locker room. So any potential trades can be explored with the knowledge that if a deal doesn't work out we are no worse off than we are now. Personally I would go into trade talks giving other teams the perception that Tmac is untouchable. Then inquire about what it would take to get players you want, and if the only way the other team would consider a deal is if Tmac was involved you consider it.
