I just want to say anyone going to the Sixers at Rockets is very lucky for 2 reasons. 1. You get to see Iverson vs. Francis a terrific match up if they get matched up. 2. You get to witness the retirement of Clyde The Glide Drexlers jersey. On another note, I was lucky enough to get a Charles Barkley last game poster from the Rockets at Sixers game dec 99 and if anyone can get an extra Drexler retirement poster we can trade. Just email me or post on this thread.

    forgot to say...I'm going!

In our season ticket draft, I nabbed Iverson's solo game as my 3rd pick before my friend realized there's only one Iverson game. hehe

I've had big plans for this. I get to entertain my old teammate, who knows the thrill of HS ball in the cornfields of Illinois, where Chicago Westinghouse brought in Mark Aguirre and their 115 ppg against our 75ppg, and we beat them 121-110. Martin Luther King never beat us either.

Nothing more fun than psyching out street ball players from Chicago with 5,000 deafening fans and a gold-ball, razmataz passing drill warm-up to the band playing the Harlam Globetrotters theme song. Loovvely!! It didn't upset Isiah Thomas though. he beat us.

    Heypartner,

it must have been awesome to play HS ball in Chicago. Did you ever get a chance to go up against Hersey Hawkins when he played for Westinghouse? Just curious.

I didn't play "in" Chicago. Mid-state in the cornfields of the Western Big Six...Quincy, Quad-Cities and Galesburg. Quincy won the mythical national championship when I was in HS, they won 55 games in a row. The Chicago teams couldn't really compete in our turf.

Our conference was the only conference downstate where the Chicago public leagues would come play.

Never against Hersey...I was gone by then playing pick-up with the man that was better than Hersey...Ricky Pierce at my alma mater Rice. Actually, I'm exaggerating here. I played pick-up with the rest of the team. Ricky played with Moses in the summer leagues. He did play with us once. Talk about intimidating. At least back in HS we had 5,000 fans and a systematic team concept to neutralize the stars.

OH--I did follow Hersey at Bradley...what a player. I still say had he not got injured, we would have won the Olympics that last pre-dreamteam year. Hersey was our only outside threat.

So, did you see Aguirre/Isiah championship game against Westinghouse and St. Joseph?

I'm willing to bet that Barkley makes his first appearance on the court that game as well, in tribute to Drexler.

Not that they got along a great deal, but Barkley is a class act. Although, last I saw of Barkley he was wearing a huge cast and bent over on crutches. I'm sure he doesn't want us to see him that way.

    Mantronix,

I got a poster for you. If you want it, go to the "Memorabilia" section, I started a thread looking for you there, too.
