Rockets G Francis out indefinitely December 31, 2007 HOUSTON (TICKER) -- Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis will be out for the indefinite future due to bi-lateral quadricep tendinitis, the team announced prior to Monday's contest with the Golden State Warriors. Francis, who had already been sidelined since December 20 with a bout of the flu, will not accompany the team on its road trip to Boston and Orlando starting on Wednesday to begin his rehabilitation. The ninth career season for Francis has been a tough one as the former second overall pick has appeared in only 10 games, averaging a career-low 5.5 points and 3.0 assists. The Rockets (15-15) also announced that guard Kirk Snyder would miss the game against the Warriors due to an excused absence for personal reasons. The third-year guard is averaging 4.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in eight games this season. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y....0bYF?slug=txrocketsfrancis&prov=st&type=lgns IS he really out...or is it just BS and he's faking it?
Maybe a trade in the works? Or they are being kind to Steve by announcing something to not hurt his future contract prospects. DD
Who gives a flip anymore? After having some hopes for him this season, SF is dead to me. The sooner he becomes an ex-Rocket again the better.
I don't know how putting someone who has had injury problems the past few years on the injured list would help his future contract prospects. He may be injured, or they may just want a roster spot for Novak since Steve isn't playing anyway.
I'm turning harsh on this season. SF has been disappointing beyond reasonable expectation. After blasting people for putting SF in the grave before the season even started, I was dead wrong and they were right. Sorry for the crankiness. I mean that sincerely and don't want to degrade the discussion here. Right now, I could go on long tirade about SF, MJ, Tracy, Bonzi and Adelman. Ready to explode!
ouch I bet you weren't saying this after the phx game? dude can you honestly say that the 10 games he's been given by RA is fair? when most of the team has been sucking all year
Can you hear that? That's me laughing at all of you folks that made and posted in the 300 threads about how SF3 was the answer. And you ridiculed me for saying he wasn't Go Rox
Are you f-ing serious!!!?? Yea people, Francis is faking it. Snyder is faking it. TMac is faking it. And Yao was faking that "mysterious" leg injury last year just so he would have fresh legs for the Chinese New Year parties. As dissapointing as this season has been so far, the fact the "fans" around here have turned to automatic accusations against player's character and commitment is just really sad. I mean, let's all just forget the guy has dealt with knee issues for the better part of the last two seasons and was still rehabbing his knee when they opened training camp. Let's also forget how everyone and their mother was on here earlier in the season gushing over Francis' heart and passion. But, now he is faking an injury? Hell, i'm not even a real big fan of the guy and wouldn't be that dissapointed if he doesn't play again this season. But, I just can't believe how the thought of him faking an injury could cross a "fan's" mind without any evidence of the fact what-so-ever.
At which point did SF3 really turns out bad? He got good games and bad games this season. I do hope he heal soon and come back and play well.
If his knees are giving him this much trouble, same as last year, his career may be over. Too bad his contract is a player option year 2...he may just decide to take the option and sit on the bench next year too. I had no real expectations for him, but figured it was worth a low risk - potential high reward shot. Too bad it didn't work out. DD
I'm not a SF hater and won't bother pulling up earlier threads supporting the idea he might help us. Just take my word for it. I vented inappropriately tonight and regret it.
Maybe there is a trade in the works? Golden State is in need of a back up point gaurd and they are trying to move Mickail Pietrus. Mickael Pietrus for Steve Francis Kirk Snyder Salaries match. Both Steve and Kirk fit the Golden State style of play and Pietrus is a open court player and a great athlete that would probably fit in Houston. He is a good defender and might help us. It would also open a roster spot.
thanks for the info. I still hope he can contribute later on--even if its a little bit...like against the game against the suns
