ESPN speculates that the Rockets are an option for C-web, as he is "going to play this year" and not retire.

Does it make since? I for one wouldn't mind having C-web come in and help teach the rest of the team adapt to the system.

    What say you?

I am on board for it as well. He's not a leader...but he could be a stabilizing presence for us on the floor. We know what he can do and coach does as well.

i've been wondering what would happen with him...

the question is can he play backup center?

if so, then yes let's have him.

    if no, then peace out.

All the JVG haters that were complaining about Charlie Ward, Charles Oakley and Clarence Weatherspoon...this would basically be the same thing with a different coach.

Yes, I would like him here. He can play the back up center for Yao. He knows the system very well.

hell yes....get him on the cheap and get him some minutes behind Yao (since we're not using Deke)....C. Webb still has some game left and he knows Ricky's system........he is soft, but hopefully we trade tmac for someone with some heart so it won't effect us as much.....

If we brought him in for 1 year at the vet minimum, why in the world would anyone object? Is he going to ruin the chemistry of a 15-15 team? Obviously not. Is he going to strap the Rockets for cap space next year? Obviously not. The only issue would be freeing up a roster spot, but I expect that to happen at some point via trade.

Despite his injuries he's a skilled big body that can back up Yao and knows Adelman's system. He's just a matter of months removed from a season where he posted 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal on 45% shooting (not bad for the amount of jumpshots he takes).

And get this! If he doesn't produce, he doesn't have to play.

All depends on how much you have to pay him and who you are going to release to make room for him on the roster.

Will do a great deal in numbing the pain of this offensive transition. Keep Yao low, watch Webber show em how its done from up high. But Adelman never pursued him so it makes me wonder...

A Center who can catch passes AND hold on to the ball? Haven't seen one of those around in a few years.

    I still say NO.

i've always liked c-webs game, even though hes an easy target. Its now or never and this team could use help. he can work the high post with the best of them and has solid range

Agreed, he could help ease the transition, but the obvious question is why would he come to Houston?

It would seem Boston or Detroit would be easier for him.

I guess I might be one of the few, but this just seems like Dallas picking up Eddie Jones and Juwan Howard. It wouldn't be doing much for the team.

And if you think Yao has no hops...

I don't think Detroit wanted him back so I doubt he's going back to Mo-Town......I'm not sure about Boston either since he wouldn't get much playing time........I think Phoenix would be a nice fit for him also.......he could definately help them in the rebounding department.......
