Tell me about it..... I thought something like this could happen when we made that trade back then. Absolutely, idiotic trade from our perspective. To make it worse, if we had kept that pick, we would have chosen Thabo Sefolosha, not Rudy Gay...... yeah.... Rockets scouting/management for ya.
You'd really rather take a 36 year old point guard looking for a 3 year extension over the Bulls deal?? Heinrich and Gordon/Nocioni or Deng and picks may be worth it
Very good point. T-Mac "is said to have" done this in the same way he "is said to have" ISO-ed Yao. The law calls that "hearsay," and the TV lawyer stands up and yells "Objection!" Sustained. "Quietly let it be known" is good too. I think what it means is that T-Mac, in a private moment, asked his housekeeper to get word to this sports writer in Chicago that he is surrounded by scrubs so he wants to play for the Bulls . . . where he will NOT be surrounded by scrubs and will easily beat Boston in the conference finals. . . .
Did anyone catch Sam's interview on 1560 a couple days ago. Pretty interesting stuff... http://1560thegame.com/page1_sub.php?id=153 It's in the Justice section. I didn't think it was new thread worthy, but in light of the new ****, I guess it might be.
Gordon, Hinrich and the other guy, none of them is an all-star. Only Deng has the potential to be an all-star. So why do you want to trade a super star with the return of 3 good players.
More difficult, but not virtually untradeable as you stated. 1) Involve at least a third team when making the trade when moving salary (players) around. OR 2) Involve enough salary (players) in the trade that the difference from the BYC calculation becomes less significant.
Because maybe one superstar in RA's system may be enough?? I certainly don't think that's true, but it may be worth considering.
Didn't we just see the Bulls play a few games ago? I mean... 1. If TMac is unhappy with this team because of the record, what part of the Bulls performance this season make him think that team would be any better and make him happier? 2. Also, what part of the Bulls performance this year would want Daryl Morey want to take on their players? Particularly, the guys whose names had ben thrown about by Smith... Gordon, Wallace, Hinrich, Nocioni. Gordon wants to get overpaid, Wallace, Hinrich and Noc are already overpaid, judging by their uninspired play this season. You think TMac's body language bothers you? Look at the Bulls this year. If the Morey Doctrine stands for anything, it stands for "Don't overpay a pseudo star." 3. So, incluclusion, even if TMac is legitimately unhappy with the Rockets and quietly talked about a trade, I'd bet he didn't talk about a trade with the Bulls, and Morey would not want any part of any Bull package not including the Luol Deng.
i would take Heinrich and Gordon for TMAC in a heartbeat.... if we couild get Deng, I woild do it even quicker....
IIRC, Base Year One's are counted at half salary so I would think too many other Bulls would have to be included forcing us to cut a lot of players. Also, Gordon and Deng are unrestricted FAs. Again, IIRC, they can't be signed until after the season, which would leave us really exposed. If both walked, we would have given up T-Mc for nothing. IMO, it's too risky trading with Chicago.
LMAO. What a coincidence... A Chicago paper starting a rumor that McGrady wants out, and then suggesting a trade with the Chicago Bulls that would make that team lightyears better. This is like the third Chicago-fan started McGrady rumor. Hilarious.
I'm happy he's not happy..... Let’s admit it T-Mac does not play very aggressively; he relies heavily on his jump shot…most superstar’s get to the line and get easy basket’s that way….look at Kobe Bryant, he gets to the line 600-700 times in a season, whereas Tracy these days is getting there 300-400 times in a year. In his best season he went to the line 700 times!!!! It’s so obvious he’s lost that ability to physically stand taking a beating when going down the lane. Anyone can shoot .439, .331 from 3pt line, and .701 from FT……those #’s are very mediocre considering that offense is supposed to be his forte..... The only positive I see from him is his play making abilities and the attention he gets….though those abilities are just not enough to warrant the cap space he’s taken, we need better role players who fit better with this team and another LEGIT superstar.
McGrady would easily be the highest paid player in a trade, so any Rockets - Bulls trade involving him would require quite a few Bulls players whether or not they have BYC status......... if Ben Wallace is excluded from this conversation. So, yes at least another team would be required or some contracts would have to be eaten.
I think it's just speculation - every big name has been in speculation for a trade with the Bulls because Chicago is desperate to get a marque player. Whether t-mac is unhappy or not, it doesn't matter right now. Even if he was, that doesn't mean much as you can see the example with Kobe. In fact, I hope T-mac is unhappy, i hope everyone is unhappy considering we are 15-15.
i cant figure out for the life of me why we would want Wallace's contract in the first place. Is it an expiring contract? Because he doesn't block shots, is moody and would take minutes away from the Scola/Hayes combo which I personally like.
