http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/5412633.html Road Games: L @ Minnesota L @ Green Bay W @ Kansas City L @ Pittsburgh W @ Cleveland L @ Indy L @ Jacksonville L @ Tennessee Home Games: W Detroit W Chicago W Miami W Baltimore W Cincinnati L Indy W Jacksonville W Tennesee Pretty brutal road schedule, but a soft home schedule. I am thinking 9-7, or 10-6 if we can pull a big road upset. What do ya'll think?
I think Minny and Tennesse are very beatable. But yeah the rest of that schedule is brutal. Cleveland will be no walk in the park.
A good, balanced schedule. I don't know why the NFL gives the Texans so many breaks by playing Miami and KC again. Too soon to be predicting wins/losses until we know what free agents the Texans sign and who they draft. Wouldn't be surprised if Andre Davis signs for bigger bucks with another team.
it's based on how you placed in your division. that is why the Colts play the Pats almost every year.
I'm pretty sure the Texans are playing at Oakland and not at KC for 2008. Oakland finished in last place of their division, so due to the strength of schedule the Texans play them instead of third place KC.
How can anyone make a determination off this schedule when there's still the offseason and the draft? Everyone thought the Bengals were going to be awesome this year and look how they ended up.
You can make predictions. The way the Texans have had great offseasons, I think it's safe to say they will be better. Of course NFL predictions have been harder than ever to make, outside of preadicting the Patriots will be good.
16-0 next season whether we play vs. Ditka or vs. Spurrier, Eli or Peyton, Brady or Bledsoe. Eff you and your "oh, SwoLy, be realistic" crap. Check out the signature I've had since the middle of the season, b*tches.
No way to predict anything.... Last years NFC title game featured too lousy teams this season, Chicago and New Orleans. The Bengals were supposed to be great and stunk. Who would have predicted such a great season for the Packers (aging Farve)and Cowboys (with a new Wade Phillips)?? The only thing we knew before the season was the Colts and Pats would be awesome as usual. But watch what happens to the Colts if they lose Manning for a significant time, Jim Sorgi....he SUCKS!!!!!
What's the point of bringing that up? What would happen to the Pats if they lost Brady, Cowboys if they lost Romo, Packers if they lost Favre, etc etc?
I'll say 10-6 and then reevaluate after FA's and drafts. It's good to finally not only be going upward but also becoming respectable. Lots of variables to determine. One being, what up with the schedule? Who will be contenders and who will be pretenders? Frankly, we should beat Minn and Cincy. Neither team is an elite team. Green Bay? Eh ... that will be a toughie! So 3-1 vs NFC Norris and 3-3 in division. Then wins over Cincy, KC, Baltimore, Miami. Cleveland? Depends when we're scheduled. Pittsburgh? Possibly a loss. Interconference 4-2. We'll see how that pans out.
Road Games W @ Minnesota W @ Green Bay W @ Oakland L @ Pittsburgh L @ Cleveland L @ Indy L @ Jacksonville W @ Tennessee Home Games: W Detroit W Chicago W Miami W Baltimore W Cincinnati L Indy L Jacksonville W Tennesee 10-6. Next season should be a lot more fun to watch with some more quality opponents. Outside of the Oakland though, the road schedule looks pretty tough.
Road Games: WIN @ Minnesota L @ Green Bay WIN @ Kansas City L @ Pittsburgh WIN @ Cleveland L @ Indy WIN @ Jacksonville L @ Tennessee Home Games: WIN Detroit WIN Chicago WIN Miami WIN Baltimore WIN Cincinnati L Indy WIN Jacksonville WIN Tennesee 11-5
yeah sorry any prediction right now makes no sense. draft is clearly large in this sport (as opposed to the NBA, where only the top few picks have an immediate impact) FA movements and cap cuts (esp. on other teams) happen. A lot. Who knows how we'll address the all-important RB position? M Turner? T Choice? A Green? All 3 have dramatically different outlooks, as do the 200 other choices. Take these question marks and multiply them by a lot, because every team on our list of opponents has to address them as well. That makes for infinite combinations about how things will work out. Cleveland this year? Cincy this year? The Saints? Favre? A Peterson?
